Good Room but Corporate Greed at the Bar

While my room was fine, I was very disappointed by your the high-level corporate enforced greed that I experienced at the hotel bar. I ordered a pizza and a cola at the bar. While the pizza was fine, the cola was 0.2l - barely enough for a two sips. Admittedly, it was my mistake not to complain at that point. After receiving my pizza, the cola was gone almost immediately due to its scant size. So, I went to the corner where snacks were offered, grabbed a 0.5l cola, and went to the bar to pay and – to my shock – the cost of the 0.5l bottle was 3€ – the same as I paid for the 0.2l bottle at the bar! Upon discovering this, I complained to the bartender, saying: it certainly would be nice if you would tell your customers "You can order get 150% more to drink for the same price if you walk across the room." The bartender informed me that "management" – meaning YOU, Ibis – forbid them to do this. What was more shocking still was that, after expressing my disappointment, I was not offered a 3€ refund. If you want me to return to your hotels, I would certainly expect a voucher for 3€ to apologize for trying to squeeze every penny out of my pocket. Sincerely, Mark C. ma…

My flight was cancelled and I required a last-minute hotel for the night. When I arrived at the hotel very late Sunday night, the staff were genuinely delightful and welcoming and so helpful.

The hotel was in an industrial area with no amenities close by. We wanted to use euros to buy a drink but we’re told that the hotel is cashless and we could not add any purchases onto our account so each time we paid for anything we incurred bank charges. When we arrived there were very limited options for a light meal. The room was very hot which we reported and were given a fan. The staff were friendly.

The air-conditioner was not working in the room, after asking the reception to check it, nothing has changed and we were given a small fan. Same thing on the second day asked again but nothing was done.
