Much better options much closer to city centre

Stayed with friends, booked several rooms. The hotel is clean but very dated rooms. Woodchip walls, bathroom is a plastic pod. Hotel is not in the city, be prepared for a walk. Breakfast booked for the second morning, there was no items left, complained, food brought out, then they ran out of cutlery. After a further wait, cutlery replaced, then plates ran out, waiting again, then back to hardly any food. Hash browns deep fried in oil which needs hanging desperately. To top it off, we paid for the breakfast the day before but nobody wrote it down so had to argue why we shouldn’t have to pay a second time prior to actually getting our breakfast.

We arrived on train with the hope of walking to the hotel. Our phones were useless and we ended up walking in circles. When you walk out of the station onto the main road facing Park Row, just turn left and keep walking. It takes around 10min. If not a taxi costs around £6. The hotel itself is everything you need. The staff on the front desk were very welcoming as were every member we saw. The hotel rooms are standard, bed and tv, however, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was nice and warm. The bathroom was spotless, and the shower pressure was great. Breakfast is included in the price, so I assumed it would be a continental. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a hot and cold buffet. The husband was very pleased to see a Full English. Honestly, I can't fault it and will be returning when we next visit.

Dear Adamsstw, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and that our team made you feel so welcome. It’s great to know the room, bed, and bathroom met your expectations, and that breakfast was a pleasant surprise for you both. We really appreciate you sharing the directions from the station—it will be helpful for future guests! We can’t wait to welcome you back on your next visit. Kind regards,

Overall, reasonably satisfied. Location good, staff helpful and polite but wheelchair rooms are far too small. Open opening the door to the room, the door caught on the bed/mattress- that's how tight it was. My wife used her small compact indoor chair and it was just able to get past the beds to get in the room. If you use a larger power chair you would struggle or possibly not get in! The bathroom access was ok but, again, in a bigger chair you would struggle. All other areas of the hotel had good access.

Dear Zaynan l., Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you found our location convenient and our staff helpful and polite. However, we are truly sorry that the layout of the wheelchair-accessible room did not meet your expectations. Your comments about the room and bathroom space are very valuable, and we will review this with our team to look at improvements to ensure better accessibility and comfort for all guests. We appreciate you highlighting that the rest of the hotel was accessible, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more comfortable experience. Kind regards, Carla Amorim, Assistant General Manager

Dear Wayne M., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the noise disturbance in room 305 and the issue with the window seal. This is not the experience we want for our guests, and we will have our maintenance team inspect and resolve it immediately. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you back for a much more comfortable stay. Kind regards, Carla Amorim, Assistant General Manager
