Location was good for travel to work. however the rooms ( we had 4 rooms booked) were in need of a deep clean. skirtings, carpets, shower cubicle and window frames all filthy. one of our workers asked for another room due to this fact and it was the same! TV didn't even work in the second room. we have 4 rooms booked from Iain Potter Construction from 30/11/20 until 23/12/20. it would be appreciated if we can have the rooms for next week that you have booked for us cleaned at the areas mentioned above. as your page say's "these unprecedented times" we'd expect them to be of a higher cleanliness. we also appreciate that the majority of guests are workers but even more so for the rooms to be of a higher standard with workers from all over UK i'd expect.

After booking this for my grandmother who was booked in to stay due to spending full days assisting with my grandfathers care whilst he resides in Hull Hospital, she was rudely met by 2 reception staff who told her her the hotel was only for workers. This accommodation was booked as it showed availability for those not classed as workers and was perfect for her to purely get her head down for the night whilst spending her days from 7am to approximately 9pm in the hospital. This has put us off using this hotel again despite its ideal location for a trip to Hull.

Checking in was fine, very friendly staff. Went for a meal in the town centre and upon arrival of the ibis we were greeted by chancers none of which wearing a mask. All demanding to use the facilities. The staff behind screens wearing masks dealt with it as best they could regarding current covid restrictions. We used the lift and when entering our floor we were greeted by two members of the group from downstairs that were trying doors to get in. We found that very unnerving as we were the first door on that floor closest to the lift. We entered our room and tried to ignore anything going on. The noise from the room above seemed like they were having a party. The noise calmed down around 5am. I had paid for late check out which is 5pm. I was knocked up by a rather rude member of staff shouting through the door that I hadn't paid for late check out and I claimed I had and have proof in an email from accor. She went away but came back 10 minutes later and knocked, again more attitude not giving me chance to explain. I got dressed and went downstairs to resolve the issue. At the front desk I tried to show them my email but rather than listen to me I got more attitude from the one that knocked on the door that they hadn't checked the computer for more detail as that doesn't show on their tablets.. we'll come on guys, check the computer and not have these issues? Any way in the mean time of me going down to reception my key card had been cancelled and I couldn't re-enter my room. I went back downstairs for another and the staff member couldn't do enough for me. Checking out staff were very helpful and friendly as they were the same staff from checking in. The room was nice, everything in working order. Nothing to complain about. The 3 ranking is for the level of bad customer service outweighing the good. And I didn't appreciate being made out to be a liar when they hadn't checked their records before dealing with me.

I stayed at the Hull Ibis on Saturday evening and it was pleasant enough for a £37 room. However the room was a bit dirty and the curtains had what appeared to be blood stained. There was no bin in the room only a bathroom bin and no proper cups only paper ones so not easy to have more than one hot drink. Aside from this the location was excellent. 3 min walk from Hull station. There was hand sanitation stations and it felt covid safe.

It was easy checking in and checking out. However, I was unhappy about the breakfast! There’s no reason for you to cut down options due to Covid! It’s well understood that buffet system is not appropriate but cannot accept the only two options either meat based or pastry! No eggs! There are so many other hotels having buffet with adequate safety guidelines! So I would recommend either Ibis should serve a proper breakfast or avoid it!!! Apart from that, it was an hassle free stay!!!
