The afternoon tea at Greenwich Novotel / Mean Time was great, tasty food and a nice selection of teas with good value. Manju is a very attentive server and we had a lovely time with family there.

We were really pleased by our experience at the Novotel this Christmas and boxing day. As a large family, we wanted to transfer the strain of catering for such large numbers of people elsewhere, so hired out a large room for 2 days at the Novotel Greenwich, where we could chill out, open our gifts and interact with each other in a relaxed setting. We asked in advance whether the room could be suitably decorated, which the hotel said it could. They also allowed us to bring our own decorations to add, if we so wished, but when we walked into the room, we were generally delighted by the lovely decorations they already put in place. We were also pleased with the wonderful buffet spread that the hotel provided, which was filled with a variety of favourite hot and cold dishes. We were even given the opportunity to make menu suggestions, which were taken into account. The staff who served us on the day and whom liaised with us prior to Christmas ie Solace Squire were amazingly patient and amenable, with nothing being too much trouble. They really aimed to please and so far as it was possible, to put in place most of our requirements. As a large group, we felt listened to and heard and we were delighted how far the staff were prepared to go to ensure we had a smooth, restful and peaceful Christmas. At one point father Christmas turned up also and handed out little gifts to us all, which was a lovely touch. We cannot thank Solace and her manager in the waistcoat (sorry can't recall his name), and her team enough for how they made our Christmas 2025 a year to remember!! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere and good hospitality. We certainly felt welcomed and cherished and would be happy to come again. If we had anything to criticise it would be the heating breaking down in the hired room, but the staff readily sorted this out with extra heating, which soon resorted to a comfortable space. Thanks again team Solace!

Poor room, cleanliness and things broken

Having stayed here previously on many occasions we booked again for our regular visit to the O2. Previous visits have all been good but this year was very poor. The cleanliness in the room was below standard, there was a poor selection of coffee, tea and no bottled water (£189 per night) which we expected. No toilet roll in the room, the sink leaked when you tried to take the plug out and the shower floor was dirty and the shower itself rusty. Location for Greenwich is good, access to the railway perfect. However, when we raised this during checkout with the lady on reception she was apologetic, took out email address and said she would be in contact. We have heard nothing, Novotel is a good brand but the standard in Greenwich has gone down a great deal and for the price does not offer good value. A simple email would have made this email end differently but very disappointing stay.
