Good place for a stop over

It was my 4th stay at Venezia Mestre Castellana. The best location for a stop over during a long trip to the nort of Europe from south of Spain. Important note - well prepared to maintain safety during these difficult times!

We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is a little bit far from the centre of Venice Mestre, but you can easily reach the hotel with a bus from the central station within 15 minutes. Room was very spacious and clean. Staff was very nice and attentive. Special thanks to Michael from the reception. :) Just one thing - outside pool and fitness were closed. The rules with Covid are a little bit more strict in compare with other hotel chains. We stayed in Marriott Hotels in the other cities in Italy and they had pools and fitness centers open already. I think it is not neccesary to keep these facilities closed anymore.

Dear, Were very disappointed with our stay. We booked the hotel for the swimming pool and fitness area, this hotel is far away from everything but still wanted something with swimming pool and fitness, bar and restaurant. Unfortunately we could not make use of it despite having paid for it. With late check-in at 10 pm we could not get anything anymore, we had a late flight. We asked how for pool and fitness we were told it was closed and the guy claimed it is on the internet, I checked every site nowhere does it say restaurant, pool and gym are closed. We had to go to Jesolo beach where the swimming pool on the beach at hotel Marina was open. The breakfast was sad little variety if you stay there for 9 days, also a long wait for bread etc ... if there was a bit more people. Lady without curls very unfriendly at 10 am could not have any more coffee and for another glass of water I had to beg for her to open the cupboard. We have to wait for everything so we lose time for dinner, then breakfast can take a little longer, I think. We do this in IBIS budget Belgium anyway. Mrs in the evening at the bar very friendly what you can not say about the gentleman who served us our last days. Bar does not open until 7 pm, which is late to drink an aperitif, you can put wine or Prosecco in your machine, we also do this in the hotel. Fortunately, satisfied with the room, cleanliness and beds BUT his money was not worth to sit so far. I have been coming to Venice Mestre for 14 years and I could have slept much cheaper without a restaurant and swimming pool in the center. With best regards, Nadia H.

Dank property, dank room. No food at check-in but a couple of day-old sandwiches in an old cooler to choose from. Even the vending machines were charging 4 for a can of coke. Not great, would not stay here again.
Depressing experience in a COVID

We book the hotel as the base for a two day trip to Venice. Other than the short distance to Venice, we wanted to enjoy the pool, but discoverd to our suprise that it was closed due to COVID-precautions. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned on the website. We would not have booked the hotel if we had known that. It would have been an act of fairness to mention it. While the staff was friendly, helpful and responsive, the hotel atmosphere was rather depressing with most amenities closed and few guests visible. At the end, our stay was double charged - which was another nuisance, albeit it was corrected rapidly after my intervention. In sum, too much went wrong this time.
