This is the second time with stayed in Novotel. I love the location, it’s just walking distance to the Grassmarket. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Brilliant staff at reception. Will definitely be back and recommend this hotel to all my friends and family

Staff were helpful and kinky left a treat in our room as I mentioned it was my partners birthday. The pool and leisure area were a pleasure to use.

The bed was comfortable but the bedsheet was clearly old and going into holes. We did not like having paper cups in the room instead of crockery even if it is for Covid reasons. We were disappointed that there was nowhere to put clothes other than the wardrobe which had only 3 hangers. We were there for 3 nights so had to leave clothes in our bags or draped over the seats. The shower door was clunky and probably needed attention. We did enjoy the pool.

The hotel was in a great location, easy to get to everything by walking. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were modern and spacious.

4 star hotel well located and very good value for the money. Nice little spa and bar

Regular visits to Edinburgh even during these current circumstances. Have stayed at this hotel now on 4 or 5 occasions and never had a complaint to make .All staff very professional in there areas of work .

We had a good stay

Our stay was good overall. The room was nice and spacious and breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly even if I wasn't able to use an Accor hotels gift card to pay for room services (we had no problem in the Novotel Glasgow). The pool and jacuzzi were out of use due to a pump problem. This was communicated in check in and is understandable BUT we'd been really looking forward to using the pool (our kids love it) and this let us down. Would it be possible to have a free pass to use the pool next time we are in Edinburgh to make up for this shortcoming? Otherwise, a good stay. Thanks, Donall

This was at Hogmanay. My girlfriend and I were to be attending the Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh but everything was cancelled. We still came for the pool and change of scene. I was a little bit disappointed that after the party cancellation Novotel did not reach out to me to either offer a change of date, voucher for future use or a breakfast or something to soften the blow of what was quite expensive for 2 nights without the Hogmanay party. Upon arrival, Check in was done at the desk, members of staff were lovely, polite and welcoming. I had books using Tesco vouchers which meant I booked over the phone and had to state my card details in the phonecall during booking. Following this I had been received a confirmation email from Novotel that I had no money to pay when checking in at hotel. This was not the case and had to offer my card details again at the desk of the hotel when checking in. The price I would have paid would have been the same fee agreed prior to the Hogmanay cancellation meaning probably more expensive. The room was spacious with a couch, lovely queen size bed. Bathroom was in a very odd layout. Toilet in a separate space around and away from the rest of the bathroom so if needing to wash hands you had to walk through the room again to bathroom. The extractor fan was constantly on and made a noise during day and night with no off switch which was extremely frustrating. Luckily I had ear plugs! The bed was super comfy and both nights had a decent sleep however if more sensitive sleepers would not have enjoyed it it! The air conditioning fan had three settings. We kept it on all day when out but it made no difference. The room was always slightly too warm. We tried the swimming pool and jacuzzi which were lovely. Towels were nice and soft. The shower in the room was not of standard for what we paid. Low power, shower head has not been cleaned recently and there were pockets of mould in the grouting of the shower cubicle. One bit came off when I was having my shower… If it wasn’t for the bed I would have been disappointed

Family city break. Really enjoyed our stay. We were attracted to book the Hotel because of the swimming pool and location to the centre of Edinburgh. We have used Novotel brand before.

Water pressure in the shower is awful. The toilet is ata a separate little room without sink. The internet was also very problematic, not even good enough to watch an YouTube video. The parking facility is the castle terrace one which you will get a 50% discount. Felt more like an Ibis. Don’t recommend.

We stayed 2 nights in what was categorised superior rooms. there was not even bottled water in the rooms. the rooms were dirty as was the rest of the hotel. It was cold and there was not a spare blanket. There are now no phones in the rooms so we could not even communicate between rooms.

There is no parking at the hotel. The hotel was very clean Staff were very efficient and friendly Breakfast was lovely

First time staying with this hotel chain, no complaints, room was spacious, clean and very peceful. Facilities were clean and well maintained and the staff were professional and helped with all requests.
