Nice place, great, helpful friendly staff….sadly had a couple of small irritations…

Well located and great stay but car park access is a huge problem!!!

One major issue for me was car park entrance was blocked by other cars. The entrance should be marked with double yellow not a single yellow! I ended up have to park in the nearby NPC carpark which is a good 10mins walk but with some lugguages which are not ideal for me. Apart from that everything was great!

The service started before I even got to Edinburgh, someone noticed I booked a twin rather than a double as a solo-traveler and took the time to phone me to ask if I would like to switch, many times I have arrived at a hotel getting a twin I requested a double, so for this to happen blew me away. When I first arrived I was pleased at how close the hotel was not just my places I needed to go but all the amenities I look for, supermarket, cafe, pub, and takeaway, all of these were within a two minute walk. From first entering the hotel to the moment I left all the staff where not just polite and professional but friendly which added to my stay. Even the night-shift carried a smile and cheery demeanor. Then noticed the Hotel bar, which was not just a bar stuck in the corner of a foyer but a proper bar set-up for live music and decked out nicely so you didn't feel like you was still in the hotel which is nice if you spend a lot of time in a hotel during travelling. I only had an early dinner one night, the menu may be limited for some but the food was very good and reasonably priced. The room was modern, light and spacious, suitable for both work and play, I would have happily worked remotely in my room for a day. The location is great, you are less than a five minute walk from the Grassmarket and Old Town, even walking around late at night on my own I felt perfectly safe getting back to the hotel. I did request food service in the early hours, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the options are limited to pizza but it was nice and piping hot and reasonably priced. Not the cheapest but in my personal opinion the best value hotel in central Edinburgh and can't wait to stay again.

Great location, easy access to royal mile and all the lovely eateries.
