I stay at ibis thornleigh quite often. Always great to come back as staff are so helpful and actually smile at you the customer when arriving and during your visit.

I had a relatively long stay for personal reasons and the staff were extremely sensitive my needs; at times they perceived they needed to keep their distance and other times they drew closer and cared for me.

The bathroom smelt like strong urine, had to ask for it to be cleaned. The air-conditioner was set at 19, and couldn’t be changed. We both barely slept as it was hot and stuffy in the room, definitely not 19 degrees

I’m truly sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay — this is far from the standard we aim to provide, and I completely understand your disappointment, especially after having a great stay with us at the same time last year. Please accept our sincere apologies for the cleanliness concerns, both in your bathroom and at the front entrance. A bathroom with a strong odour is unacceptable, and I’m sorry you had to request additional cleaning rather than arriving to a room that was properly prepared. Thank you for bringing it to the team’s attention at the time. I’m also very sorry about the air-conditioning not functioning as it should. A hot and uncomfortable room that affects your sleep can make the entire stay feel difficult, and it’s clear we let you down here. We will be inspecting the unit in that room immediately to ensure it is properly repaired. Your comments regarding staffing and the delay in receiving your key after online check-in are also extremely valuable. We’re reviewing our roster coverage to ensure both reception and the restaurant are adequately supported, especially during busy periods. While it’s good to know that you found the booking process easy and felt well looked after during check-out, I understand these positives don’t outweigh the discomfort and inconvenience you experienced.
