I’m really disappointed with my recent stay at the Ibis. From the moment we arrived, things went downhill. Both of our rooms were dirty — not just a minor oversight, but clearly not cleaned properly before we checked in. We had to request someone to come back and clean both rooms again, which is the last thing you want to deal with after travelling. The towels in the rooms were also stained, so we had to ask for replacements. Again, basic cleanliness shouldn’t be something guests have to chase. What made the situation even worse was that there seemed to be only one staff member running the entire hotel. The man at check‑in was simultaneously cleaning rooms, checking guests in, and making food in the restaurant. Because of this, the wait for even a simple drink at the bar was extremely long — he was constantly being pulled away to deal with something else, including what looked like cleaning another guest’s room. He told us that, due to the state of our rooms, our parking and breakfast costs would be refunded. That never happened. Nothing was refunded, and there was no follow‑up or acknowledgement afterward. Overall, the stay was chaotic, poorly managed, and far below the standard I expected. Clean rooms and basic staffing shouldn’t be too much to ask.

While our team always strives to deliver attentive service, it is clear that on this occasion we fell short, and the level of staffing you experienced was not reflective of our usual operations. We understand how frustrating this must have been, particularly after travelling. In regard to the charges discussed during your stay, I apologize for the lack of follow-up at the time. I can confirm that a refund has now been processed. Please allow a few business days for it to appear in your account. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Sorry but a backpackers would have been better. We cancelled our stay on our way to the room and went elsewhere for similar cost.

Bed was very comfortable, room was clean. Bathroom very compact & you had a big step up into it ( not great if you have a disability) a sign said hair dryer in cupboard but there was not one. Cleaning staff did not come to the room during 5 day stay even with putting a sign on the door & asking reception. So no toilet paper, tea, coffee, milk, replacement towels(only 2 provided, no spares, no balcony or anywhere one could hang a towel for fresh air). The pillows were very smelly & needed replacing & put pillow protectors on them. Could not use air conditioner as it made a noise, was very dirty & looked well overdue for a service.
