Nice experience. Clean and comfortable stay. Close to the airport. On our day arrival, it was raining heavily. We could not find any help/cover from the train station to the hotel.

Athens is a hot city. Who decided within Sofitel Standards that the rooms did not need a fridge. I called the reception and they told me that the fridge in the room was 2 degrees under room temperature. Or I could store my things at the reception. That is ridiculous. As we left at 4 am I was obliged to store my breakfast in the unfresh fridge. Then I was sick. Believe me, it is unpleasant to be sick when you take a plane! Then i tried to go to the swimming pool and it was not heated! A fresh swimming pool, brilliant idea. Even in a cheap hotel I got better things.

As per the message displayed in each room, our mini fridge is not recommended to store sensitive products such as medicine or food for long time. Therefore, you were indeed offered by reception to store your food at the fridge available by reception. Upon request, we can also always prepare a breakfast to go box for very early departures to best cope with our early traveling guests' needs. Your feedback for the pool water temperature is also well received. Please note that the temperature is daily check in order to cope with the legal requirements. When we arrived after midnight the check in was easy and done with a friendly smiling receptionist. We were also upgraded to the Executive floor which was much appreciated. However we were told we could use the Club lounge for breakfast but found out in the morning this was not the case. However a major issue happened after we had a wonderful Continental breakfast in the restaurant as we received a rather abrupt telephone call in our room from a gentleman saying that we had left without paying. We had not even checked out of the hotel and after we gave our room number when we arrived for breakfast we expected that the cost would be added to our bill. On departure I informed the receptionist about this incident and she apologised and said that should not have happened. Apart from this I would highly recommend staying here.

Staff that greeted our group was very gracious with all smiling faces. Room was very clean with modern updated bathroom decor. Bed was most comfortable.
