Matt Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

Had last stayed in 2019 and noticed a number of problems: - Called room service which rang and rang and eventually gave up. Then called receiption and no-one answered. Ended up having to leave the hotel to find somewhere else to eat. - Took a long time at receiption checking in and checking out. There was a concert on and so lots of people but should have anticipated this. - At the breakfast simple things as knives had run out from one of the trays and since tables were not being cleared people had to keep asking staff for a knife. A number of the breakfast food choices were empty. - Had a coffee machine but with no flat white option. Seems like would be the most obvious option needed for an NZ hotel. - One of the lifts the ground button would refuse to work a few times. Had to take lift to 1st floor and walk the rest. - Bathroom had no amenities, only a few commercial sized pump bottles for shampoo and handwash. Not sure if this was intentional but if so then was no notice anyway about it. Was a pain since had forgotten toothpaste but was just expecting to get some at hotel. - Aircon was very cold in room and didn't seem to respond to temp changes on the control. Noticed other people complaining about this as well.

Ok hotel. Simple and a bit outdated but room was clean. There was a mistake in our check in which resulted in someone else being checked in to our room as well and actually walking into the room while we were there. Quite a shock. Breakfast was supposed to go until 11 but as we walked into the restaurant around 10.20 we were told to help ourselves to something and eat at the bar as they were closed. Breakfast food wasn’t nice anyway and I’m not a food snob.

Very disappointed with the room for the price we paid to stay. Very average. We had no body wash in our room, showers need to upgraded. No mini bar, room service menu very average. We where meant to stay again this coming Friday but have since cancelled our stay and moved hotels.

Overpriced aged accommodation that needs a make over

Out dated overpriced, glad I was not paying ! The room hadn't been cleaned in days, dust on all surfaces. Used cotton bud in the wardroom door runner. Bathroom door blown at the bottom. It took ages to get served at the bar but all staff were friendly enough. This is definitely the worst Accor group hotel I've stopped in for a long time.
