Serious Concerns About Cleanliness, Unhygienic Conditions, and Safety.

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but I feel this needs to be addressed. The overall cleanliness of the hotel room was below expectations, particularly the bathroom. The toilet was not properly cleaned before my arrival—it had visible stains and an unpleasant odor that made the stay uncomfortable. This is simply unacceptable for any hotel claiming to offer quality service. Cleanliness should be a basic standard, and unfortunately, this was not met. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their housekeeping standards moving forward. Even more concerning was the air conditioning unit. The fan was covered in dust, and it’s obvious it hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Breathing in air from a dirty AC is not only unpleasant, but also poses a serious health risk, especially for anyone with allergies or respiratory issues. It’s unacceptable for a hotel to overlook such basic hygiene standards. I sincerely hope the management takes action to improve the cleanliness of the rooms, especially the bathrooms and ventilation systems. Another issue that really needs attention is the carpet in the rooms. It is extremely thin and loosely fitted, which makes it very easy to slip or trip over—especially near the edges and corners. This is not only uncomfortable but also a serious safety hazard, particularly for children or older guests. A hotel should ensure that its flooring is both safe and secure. I hope this gets fixed soon before someone gets seriously injured.

Nice Short break

Our overall experience was good. The hotel is in a nice location within a calm and peaceful city—an ideal option for short breaks, especially since it’s only an hour and a half from Cairo. We booked rooms on the higher floors to enjoy a better view overlooking the lake and the lovely greenery along the shore. It also helped reduce the noise coming from the DJ at the pool and the café. Activities are limited but pleasant: Swimming in the pool (Note: the lake is not clean enough for swimming, though sitting by the lakeside is quite enjoyable). Walking around the hotel or exploring the nearby area. There’s a corniche along a small canal that’s great for walking or running. In the evening, sitting at the café with live music and a singer created a nice, lively atmosphere. Our main concerns were with the restaurant: Food quality needs improvement, especially considering it’s served under the Accor-Mercure brand. A wider variety of dishes would also be appreciated. The staff seemed limited and not very attentive when it came to clearing used plates. Some dishes on the buffet shelves were dirty or wet. On our last day, most of the dinner items ran out within the first 30 minutes, even though dinner service is supposed to last three hours with regular refills. There was barely anything left except desserts and fruits. While the staff was polite, apologized, and tried to assist, this issue reflects poor planning by the restaurant management, who should have anticipated guest numbers and prepared accordingly. Note: We noticed that most guests booked breakfast only, and we believe that’s a wise choice. The dinner experience didn’t justify the cost, especially when there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby, particularly seafood places. One more concern: The DJ at the pool played music at an uncomfortably loud volume. Despite raising the issue multiple times, he insisted it was per hotel management’s request. This was disappointing, as guest comfort should be a top priority. In conclusion, the hotel has great potential, thanks to its location, peaceful surroundings, and relaxing atmosphere. With a few improvements—especially in food service, staff attentiveness, and guest comfort—it could become a top getaway spot. We enjoyed our stay overall, but we hope management considers these points to enhance the experience for future guests.
