Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was quite soft—while I didn’t have any complaints after the night, I personally prefer a firmer mattress.

This was my 8th stay at Sofitel Legend The Grand. It was also the very first time I requested a complimentary room upgrade—a standard benefit for my Accor ALL Gold status, and a reasonable expectation for a regular guest. Instead of seamless service, I was refused three separate times: once via email prior to arrival, once in the morning when dropping off luggage, and a third time when checking in that evening. Each time, I was told no higher category rooms were available. I know this was untrue because rooms were actively bookable online that same day. At the Hotel Imperial in Vienna—the management proactively flags my profile as a repeat guest. I am upgraded seamlessly before I even arrive at the desk, without ever having to ask. At Four Seasons Prague, my specific room is locked the moment I book a stay (if not available, it is immediately upgraded to a suite). That is standard 5-star service. At Berlin Ritz-Carlton, automatic upgrade comes with champagne. At The Grand, it was only after I firmly reminded the receptionist of my status and history that a room "magically" become available. I should not have to fight through three rounds of refusal to receive a basic benefit. To make matters worse, basic housekeeping requests were completely ignored during this stay. I requested turndown service for 7:00 PM, which occurred only once in three nights. I also requested two extra bottles of water for the room each evening, which never materialized. Please review my profile and confirm how these operational failures will be handled for my future bookings. Expecting a guaranteed room upgrade and a bit of attention to housekeeping are not unjustified, given the fact that I stay at the property on a regular basis. Otherwise, the Waldorf Astoria and the InterContinental Amstel will be more than happy to accommodate these very simple expectations.
