The stay at Sofitel Legend Amsterdam The Grand was, simply put, exceptional! My spouse and I enjoyed the hotel's warm and welcoming hospitality throughout our stay. The extraordinary customer service started before we arrived at the hotel when I was in communication with Chaira from the hotel's Guest Relations, who fully accommodated us regarding our room requests. Chaira offered her assistance impeccably with impressive promptness in the follow-up emails. When we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed by one of the desk managers, Shane, who warmly greeted us and had the room ready for an early check-in. The room was beautiful, with a lovely canal view. Shane's customer service was exceptional, and he helped us during our stay, addressing any questions or requests we had. We also made taxi reservations with him (including the taxi to take us to the airport at the end of our stay), and the taxis always showed up in perfect time; we felt reassured all the time by Shane's reliability in providing exceptional customer service. We ate all our meals throughout our stay at the hotel: breakfast at Bridges, Christmas festive lunch and dinner sittings at Oriole, and room service. We were blessed to meet many extraordinary hotel employees throughout our culinary experience: the restaurant host or hostess, the serving staff servers, and the room service attendants. Because we do not know all the names of these wonderful people, we decided not to write only the ones we know; all who interacted with us should feel included as all provided us with exquisite service and unforgettable memories. Many thanks to the Chefs who contributed to an outstanding culinary experience! Regarding the cleanness of the room, the room housekeeping department did a fantastic job by providing every day a spotless clean room with every room amenity resupplied, i.e., still water and all the necessary toiletries. It was so comforting coming back every day of our stay to a clean room with all the amenities provided in plenty. The hotel itself is beautiful, with so much history behind it, and it does transport one back in time, yet with all the modern facilities for a perfectly comfortable stay. The hotel's location could not be better; it is in the center of the city but tucked away from the center's business. One can walk to all the tourist attractions Amsterdam offers. Overall, we experienced a wonderful stay, and the exquisite hospitality and customer service provided a memorable stay!

We spent Christmas at the Grand. Everything was perfect. The staff we encountered from arriving to departing was so kind and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful and we greatly enjoyed the Christmas Day Brunch. Excellent atmosphere! The concierge and the butler service was supreme. We will return and would recommend The Grand to anyone.

Our stay at the Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam was a first-class experience. The staff is fantastic and attentive to all your needs, big or small, from the glass of champagne when you check in to freshly brewed coffee brought to your room at 4:00 a.m. We enjoyed a fantastic five-course Christmas dinner at Oriole and breakfast at Bridges. I recommend having cocktails at the bar inside the restaurant, great Old Fashioned, and small plates if you don't want dinner. Our trip to Europe is “Amsterdam,” we are planning our return trip for the summer and plan to stay at the Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam. See you soon!

Clean Hotel, nice location, good rooms, very rude staff

The hotel was nice and clean, located at a convenient spot in the city. 1) most of the staff was very rude without a single effort to make our stay enjoyable and memorable 2) door concierge very polite and helpful 3) our check-in experience was very fast and pleasant 4) endless and lousy check-out with a lot of mistakes in Invoice, billing and credit card hold 5) rude front desk manager during check-out 6) rude and unpleasant staff at breakfast in majority Left with bitter taste and definitely not satisfied from the general hospitality which is far from the well known French hospitality that Sofitel has been offering to us around the world. Definitely not a hotel to recommend
