Very clean but tiny!

Hotel was very clean & staff were nice. However, the room was absolutely tiny! It would be ok for one person but for 2 people, it was a squeeze. Bathroom was lovely though. No sockets on either side of the bed was annoying. There was a smell of sewage in the lobby of the second block & no cover over the walkway between meant a dash in the rain for breakfast. Over-priced for what it was really. Ibis were also very inflexible with changing dates. I made a mistake in my booking & they absolutely would not help me with changing to the next night. Charging a premium for being allowed to change the date of a booking is unfair. I understand the cancellation fee element but I just wanted to change to the next night as we were coming for a funeral. No help given whatsoever & we had to book a second night. Some flexibility would be a nice element of your customer service.

Hotel itself is located in a good area, if you have a car, many shops and restaurants are only 3-5 mins drive. However, the rooms aren’t so great. We had stains on our carpet, the area outside the hotel and even in the rooms just smelt like sewage. The worst of the smell was in the bathroom and everytime we opened the tap to run water. We experienced some heavy rain then I heard water dropping from somewhere. When I noticed that the seal on the wall of the window was cracked so water was leaking through onto our desk and our belongings. Some staff were helpful but majority of them were not smiley, were not welcoming and seemed like they didn’t want to help / be there.
