Booked a twin room weeks previous with a dog (dog friendly). No confirmation the dog was booked despite 2 emails. Therefore had to make a phone call the night before to gain confirmation. When we arrived reception asked if we would like a double room as they didn't have many twins (needed a twin). When we got in the ground floor room there was a soaking patch on the carpet my dog was licking. Went back to reception and I was told it would only be water. The only other available and suitable room was a family room on the second floor. At 85 years was not suitable for my dad. The only solution was to put towels on top which in no time soaked through. I'm guessing a leak from the toilet and believe they knew. Very run down accommodation and never did they offer me a discount for what we had to put up with. We ate in there dining room and the food was mediocre and just microwaved. If that's their quality of accommodation I will not stay there again.

Run down, 1970s butlins chalet vibes, avoid!

Not what you expect from a big hotel chain, the whole place is extremely run down and has 1970s holiday chalet vibes. The carpet in the room was filthy, there was a random plastic glove on the floor next to the bathroom and the grout in the shower was disgusting. I stayed on the ground floor and the underside of the balcony above has huge strip lights which are directly in front of each rooms windows meaning it's almost impossible to block the light out to sleep. The door didn't seal properly and the room only had a small electric radiator, ok in summer but I'd hate to stay in winter time. Outside had random washing lines strung up with rotted wooden doors left open, looked so tatty Staff were helpful enough I knew as soon as I arrived I wouldn't be eating there so can't comment on the food. Definitely avoid!

Good stay

I have stayed here for a business purpose and I have definitely enjoyed it. The hotel rooms are very clean and tidy. Staff is very professional and they would to above and beyond. I recommended this hotel to all my colleagues who worked in Coventry as well.

In desperate need of attention

This hotel is like a 'Motel' with a separate reception/bar/restaurant and accommodation, separated by the car park. Although the rooms appeared to be up to the usual Ibis standard of cleanliness, they are 'tired': nothing major, just many small items needing attention. The external walkway lighting shines directly into the rooms even with the curtains closed.Outside, the accommodation block gutters are full of plant material ..even small trees!!! This means that water from the roof cascades over the gutters and onto the walkways, causing puddles on the walkways. In places the asphalt has been eroded away , so this problem has been going on for years, not weeks. The bar facilities are limited...alright if you like lager or cider. Restaurant is also basic. Fish & chips was not nice and should be avoided although pizza was alright. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday night cost us over £100. Were must have been on a special 2 for 3 offer, where we got 2 nights for the price of 3? Definitely not good value for this level of quality. Overall this hotel is not a good example of the Ibis name. It is in desperate need of attention. Maybe a candidate for an 'Accor mystery guest'. I have completed a guest feedback and received a reply. I only hope that notice has been taken of my comments.
