Disappointing view from room - just a sort of interior shaft. TV did not work properly - did not give programme guide. Reported this on first day but it was never attended to. No problems with wifi but mobile signal inside room was practically non-existent. Not much shelf space in shower/toilet. Otherwise all was adequate. Two complaints about breakfast were watered-down apple juice (orange was OK) and a strange contraption for dispensing marmalade which didn't seem to get replenished often enough. Seemed odd that no milk was available next to the tea and coffee machine - instead it was several yards away next to the cereal. Otherwise, breakfast was OK, with some very good sausages.

The hotel is ideally located right in the middle of the Royal Mile. All of Edinburgh's sights easily within walking distance or a quick tram ride away. The staff were particularly lovely.

Stopover on the way to Inverness- room adequate but just a bit too small for me, beds too thin. Everything worked fine though. The best bit is the location.
