Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre 5 stars

My collegue and I had booked 2 nights 16-18Nov23 given that we were arriving 5am 17th and leaving 10pm 17th Nov. When we actually arrived at 9am after delays (partly due to the thunderstorms in Dubai) - hungry, hot, tired and in need of a shower: 1. The receptionist took an extremely long time to process our checkin. This was infuriating. 2. She took our card and actualy billed us each 2 nights. 3. Not until after this did she actually tell us that our rooms were unavailable. So she had actually charged us for the room which we could not access but had booked from the previous day. 4. When pushed, she gave access to the gym for a shower - but the showers were unavailable. 5. She offered us use of the executive lounge for breakfast, but when we actually got there, breakfast had been cleared away. 6. When my room was finally availabe, we were only charged for a single night, but absolutely no other compensation was offered - eg. I expected at least our lunch paid for. I understand the problems experienced by the hotel were out of their hands (the rain) but it was the handling and custormer interaction that I am complaining about, not specifically the unavailability of the rooms. All in all, an extremely disatisfying experience which I have notified my company of (Newmont Gold - the biggest gold producer in the world).

We had booked for two nights as flight into Dubai was scheduled to land at 5am and we needed a room to go straight into (I am told that our travel agent made note of this on the booking) Flight was a little late so arrived at the hotel about 9am. Reception took a very long time to process us, took payment for two nights and then eventually told us that there were no rooms available, and it would be at least a 1 hour wait. After some pleading, I eventually managed to get a room for myself but my colleague did not get one until around 1pm. We were given complimentary access to the executive lounge, but by the time we got there, there was no food service - only coffee. When what we really needed was a shower and some breakfast. To the managers credit, they eventually refunded us for the previous night and were quite apologetic about the situation. There was some offer as to what they could do for us the next day to make up for it (continued lounge access or meals, I assumed) but with our departing flight at 3am there wasn't much point. The hotel rooms themselves were nice and clean. Sports bar was excellent, and the food there was also good.

The Pullman City Centre offers far more than convenience. The cosy atmosphere, the kind and efficient staff, the vast array of services, are the N°1 reason why I always stay in this perfect hotel. Direct access to City Centre Mall and 5 minutes drive to the airport and mere bonuses in this respect. Congratulations to all !

Stayed for a few days rest and it ticked all the boxes.
