1. Extremely Poor Check-in Experience My family and I arrived at the hotel at approximately 12:00 a.m. (midnight) after a long journey. We were already extremely exhausted. During check-in, the reception staff insisted that my reservation had not been paid, despite the fact that I clearly presented both: * my official booking confirmation, and * my payment confirmation. Even after reviewing both documents, the staff continued to question the payment instead of resolving the issue efficiently. This unnecessary delay kept us waiting for a considerable amount of time at midnight, which was extremely frustrating after an entire day of travelling. A guest should not have to prove multiple times that a prepaid reservation has been paid. 2. Unacceptable Room Cleanliness and Missing Basic Amenities After finally entering the room, we were shocked by its condition. The room did not provide even the most basic amenities, including: * toothbrushes, * toothpaste, * slippers, * facial tissues. More concerning was the cleanliness of the bathroom. When I wiped the toilet seat with tissue paper before using it, the tissue came away with yellow stains, indicating that the toilet had clearly not been cleaned properly before our arrival. This level of hygiene is completely unacceptable for an international hotel brand. 3. Very Poor Service Response After discovering that there were no slippers in the room, I called reception and requested them to be delivered. Despite waiting for quite some time, nobody came. Eventually, I had to go downstairs myself to collect them. Later, because there were still not enough slippers for everyone, I called reception again to request another pair. Instead of apologising or helping, the response I received was essentially: “We already delivered them.” This response was particularly frustrating because they were never delivered—I had personally gone downstairs to collect them. The lack of communication between staff and the dismissive attitude made an already disappointing stay even worse. 4. Extremely Poor Wi-Fi The hotel’s Wi-Fi was also extremely unreliable. The connection was so poor that many webpages would not even load, making it very difficult to use the internet throughout our stay. Reliable internet is a basic expectation for guests today, especially at a hotel of this standard. Overall Experience This stay was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had. The combination of: * an unnecessarily stressful midnight check-in, * poor room cleanliness, * missing basic amenities, * slow and unprofessional customer service, * and unusable Wi-Fi, does not reflect the quality or reputation that Mercure and the Accor brand promote. I hope this complaint will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. I would also appreciate knowing what steps will be taken to prevent future guests from experiencing the same issues. Given the significant inconvenience and poor service throughout my stay, I believe appropriate compensation should also be considered. I look forward to your response.
