The Sofitel on Collins is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Some areas are a little tired and showing age, but honestly, there is very little—if anything at all—worth complaining about. Always pleasant.

Liked the vibe, reception deks handling could have been better , more organized, overall it was good. Communication needs to be little clearer, I wanted to pay using Gift cards and over email I was advised I can provide details of those at checkout, but when I checked -in I was asked for upfront payment (understandable) but it should have been informed upfront when email was sent to me, so I had them prepared ready for use. Had to wait for my bags 2 hours after I checked in to come through after 2 calls and 2 hours. I dropped them 3 hours before I checked in anyways.

The reason for the low score. The shower went cold after 30 seconds in the morning. This not acceptable in a 5 star venue. I reported on check out. Otherwise you would have received a 10 as we love it there.
