As someone who frequently travels for work and stays in various hotels, I was unfortunately quite disappointed with my recent experience at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort. While the resort's online appearance was appealing, the reality of the room itself fell very short of expectations. The room felt significantly aged, with uncomfortable and poorly designed furniture. The amenities provided were bare minimum, and I was particularly surprised by the lack of complimentary bottled water, which I've come to expect at other Novotel properties. Additionally, having to pay for laundry facilities felt more akin to a caravan park than a resort. The overall lack of in-room facilities was a major drawback. Although I did enjoy the restaurant during my evening stay, the quality of the room greatly impacted my overall impression. Given the choice, I will opt for different accommodation on future business trips to the area.

2 Retired couples booked a 5day stay, 3 months in advance as one party of 4. We booked through Luxury Escapes. Novotel chose to separate into two bookings into two rooms. Asked on 3 separate occasions for adjoining rooms because they said they didn’t have any 2 bedroom units. It’s a big place so that is curious. Final ask was at check_in 12.10pm; when we found we were not adjoining. The desk resisted changing because “room allocation had already been done and only a supervisor could change that”. We agreed to return 30min later by which time this was resolved. Perhaps all this is due to Novotel allocating specific rooms en-bloc on Luxury Escapes. Rooms have limited catering in a small alcove, no wash-up sink, no tea towel, no daily servicing. Bathroom linen servicing was serviced daily. Had to ask for milk and a toilet clean because there was no toilet brush provided. Resort seems a bit dated with signs of material breakdown .., rusting, wood rot, PVC down pipe movement. So onto the good stuff… breakfast was excellent to outstanding. Choice of espresso coffees from a big auto machine or paid by barista. Freshly made omelettes and pancakes to order as well. Two queen beds in each room with excellent RC A/C. The resort is private and quiet with countless separate 2-storey accomodation blocks of (8-10 rooms?), each with forest aspect from open balconies. Kangaroos and some sort of (silent) bush turkey everywhere in the mornings. About 8min from Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY Maroochydore) and about the same into Maroochydore itself. The Maroochydore Surf Club is an excellent place to eat BTW. Noosa about 40min and same to popular Eumundi market (Wed and weekends).

Additionally, your suggestions about clearer resort navigation and possibly providing a golf cart escort or better mapping for first-time guests are excellent, and we will explore how we can improve the arrival experience.
