Rooms are disgusting. Bath was filled with scratches which was ingrained with dirt. Breakfast was horrible. Hotel staff were rude and probably the worst part about the hotel!

This review has been written by an individual who did not stay at Swissôtel Amsterdam and therefore has no first-hand experience of our hotel, our rooms, our breakfast, or our service. The statements made are not based on an actual visit and should be read in that context by anyone considering a stay with us. For clarity, the author held a reservation but was unable to arrive. After several polite and professional telephone conversations with our colleagues, the booking was handled strictly in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions, including the applicable no-show policy. A request for free cancellation outside the cancellation window was therefore declined. As no stay ever took place, the detailed allegations regarding room cleanliness, bedding, breakfast quality, and staff conduct cannot reflect reality. While we respect the right to share opinions, we also believe it is important for future guests to understand when a review is not grounded in an actual hotel experience. Swissôtel Amsterdam welcomes thousands of guests each year, and our reviews largely reflect genuine stays and authentic feedback. House keeping issues let this hotel down - concerning for a 4 star.

We stayed a night here and were not too impressed given that it is a 4 star and expensive. So we wanted a drink at the bar but were advised it was closed on a Monday. The bed was comfy but the mattresses were very thin and the sheets kept coming off them when we slept, unable to secure due to the type they are (pic attached). The shower was in the bath and the shower head wouldn’t fix high up - sounds minor but when it’s facing your belly it’s annoying. Also little things to do with house keeping were concerning - there was no shower gel left in the refillable holder and glass bottle of water in the mini bar without a lid on it ! Saying that, the receptionist was friendly and the location is brilliant right next to the royal palace.

A very good hotel, location is fabulous central to dam sq staff very pleasant - room is fairly basic but rooms generally in Amsterdam are quite compact so it was no surprise Room had a mini fridge which is a big plus and all things considered I would have no hesitation in staying here again

Nice Hotel !!

We were going to be in Amsterdam for one night and we were looking for a central place. This hotel turned out to be perfect choice. It is located right at Dam Square. It was nice of them to give us an early check-in. The room was spacious including bathroom. The reception staff was very helpful all the time. Actually this hotel deserves five stars. The only problem was that there was a gap between the flooring and window in the room. When my wife went towards the window, she fell down in the gap which about 15 inches down. Luckily nothing happened to her. Ideally they should put an iron bar at this point so that nobody could reach window. Therefore one star less. I hope the management will seriously look in to it.

The rooms were too small but that’s the norm in any European city I presume . But the house keeping service and the attitude of the manager in the reception was awful . Inspite of our repeated reminders the rooms were not cleaned properly and even for a 5 day stay the linens were not changed inspite of our requesting multiple times.
