My stay was unfortunately impacted by a serious issue with the hotel’s laundry service. Two of my suits were returned damaged after cleaning, and the problem was promptly acknowledged by hotel staff. Despite this recognition and multiple follow‑ups providing full documentation and valuation, I did not receive a concrete response or compensation proposal within a reasonable timeframe. Beyond the material loss, the incident caused professional inconvenience (I had several customers' meetings in the week, in between customer's meeting at Sofitel conference room) and unnecessary stress, especially given the expectations associated with a hotel of this standing. While the property itself meets high standards, the handling of this matter—particularly the lack of timely resolution—fell well below expectations. I hope management will address such situations more responsibly in the future to uphold the level of service guests anticipate.

We were staying on the second floor above the restaurant, where there was constant noise from the air vents and ventilation system. In addition, whenever we opened the window, cigarette smoke from people smoking on the terrace would enter the room. People were also allowed to smoke inside the café area at the reception, which caused the smell of cigarettes to spread throughout the reception hall and into all floors due to the open layout. As a result, we were exposed to secondhand smoke for the entire duration of our stay, which is not acceptable. Exposing staff, guests and guests with kids to passive smoking is inacceptable! Aside from these two issues, which were quite significant for us, everything else was great. Also, it's a pity that there were no direct access from the hotel to the jardin d'essai

I stayed at Sofitel Algiers during a recent business trip. The staff was lovely, however, I was extremely disappointed by the quality of the hotel. It is dated and would need a full refurbishment. Furthermore, the breakfast was below par and to top it off it was a shock to see customers smoke indoors in the lobby and bar area. The smell will impregnate the room. It was my first and last time here.
