I stayed at the Ibis for one night for a conference with work. Not sure how much one night would cost as this was paid for by my employer, but the Ibis is in the budget range of hotels. However, this isn't a cheap and nasty hotel as all rooms have an en suite bathroom, double glazing, a television that works properly and has a good choice of channels, and my room was spotless. Also the Ibis being in Chinatown means people who like Chinese food have a large choice of Chinese restaurants and takeaways. My only complaints would be the hard mattress in my room, which made sleeping a bit difficult at times, and the awkward swipe card for the lift. Otherwise this Ibis is a decent enough hotel and I enjoyed the self service breakfast that set me up for the day.

We booked New Street Birmingham to break up a long journey. We arrived late and mostly wanted to sleep. The room (341) was very tired looking and smelt unpleasant. There was a large stain at the foot of the bed that looked liked urine or vomit which hadn't been cleared up completely. The desk was battered and the small shower room well overdue an upgrade. Not worth the 100+ pounds we paid.
