I stayed at the Ibis for one night with work colleagues as part of a group booking for a team meeting in Birmingham. It's the second time I had stayed here, having visited a few years ago and being disappointed back then by the noise at the back of the hotel. On this occasion there wasn't any noise in the area and the stay was okay. My room was on the 4th (top) floor and was reasonably well equipped with TV, double bed, desk and chair, storage racks, free Wi-Fi and a small but functional bathroom. The shower door was close to the bathroom door and it was a little tight for space, with the wet door dripping all over the floor when you got out of the shower. The shower itself was decent quality and had a good range of water temperature. There was a kettle, tea and coffee in the bedroom. Breakfast was not bad, the hot buffet was tasty although the selection of cereals and fruit was limited. Coffee from the machine was okay but I have had better. The staff I encountered were friendly and overall the stay was fine. The location is really convenient for New Street station (5-minutes walk) and I would stay there again if the price was right.

Ed and Ingrid made our visit to the hotel amazing. The ambience for a city ibis was very pleasant. We stayed early in the week and therefore was not disturbed by the nearby nightlife. The amenities were relevant. I would definitely be back for a future stay

My partner and I regularly stay here when we cannot get trains back late to where we live. Although still reasonable, I feel the hotel has got slightly worse over the last year or so. Quite a few of the staff seem inexperienced and you can often be left waiting at the check out desk or, when someone does come, they seem unsure on what to do. This is usually alleviated by a manager coming over and dealing with it, but not a good first impression on arrival! The location is great, which is the main reason we stay here and the loyalty scheme is also good, giving you deals and free drinks on arrival. Rooms are mostly good, but we've stayed in a few that look a bit disjointed and in need of a make over. My main gripe is that they are no longer doing hand towels! I personally prefer to not dry my hands and face on a towel I dry my genitals on! I presume it's some environmental initiative, but why not just give one per room and no towel change during a short stay instead? We mainly just use the rooms for a quick shower and a sleep so we're not looking for anything too fancy and the rooms have everything we need, including hair dryer and body wash/shampoo. Buffet breakfast is usually good - as it is a buffet it does depend on what time you go down and how long it's been left out, but the selection on offer is good for the price.

Not great - bad experience all round

Booked with Booking.com last year in June for a trip - via their flexible rate. Asked to cancel both the hotel (ringing reception) and also Booking.com and refused refund -despite being a flexible rate! Seems like a con all round. Not impressed

Very good, clean hotel . Rooms quite small however still thoroughly enjoyed. Very pleasant service from Raju at breakfast. Who was always helpful. The breakfast was very nice. Hotel location was adequate for us. Second time using this hotel and will be back again.
