I'm Born and Raised in Strasbourg now living in London. Had to visit Strasbourg for a critical lawyer meeting. Upon arrival, meet with disdain and coldness (was that because I was wearing a hoodie and baseball cap ?). Being asked I was parked with my car and responding yes, was told that I might have to park on the street as there’s no reservation possible. By the way, the asphalt in front of the hotel if full of potholes and one need to ring at multiple time to gain access to parking. In the morning, walking to cafeteria to get a first café, I’m am closely followed by the staff to the coffee machine (was that because I was wearing shorts and a t shirt ?). Then, once suited up and having a sit down to have breakfast, same staff member comes to apologies for following me earlier. By the way, I forgot to mention that the front desk refused to bring me an iron and table in the room – had to pick it up downstairs. I care about this city more than any other in this world. Seeing such poor guest friendliness is worrying.

In general i am satisfied but i have to note that the toilet window has no blinds, which is very bad considering it looks right at the main street.

Disappointing

One usually knows what to expect from an Ibis -a reasonable room and friendly staff for a relatively reasonable price. That was true on this occasion but some details, such as a shower that ran cold and no kettle and tea/coffee in room rather spoilt the experience. The hotel was of course not responsible for the heavy rain and cold wind when I arrived but closing one entrance-the one I approached first- didn’t help. Also closing the restaurant on a night when venturing out to eat wasn’t attractive was a disappointment -and especially inappropriate in a week when room rates were doubled because the European Parliament was sitting.
