Lovely communal areas, room was a little dated, but wasn't in there for long with the busy schedule that we had. Walking distance to city centre and bars and restaurants. Parking on site slightly limited, but very handy. Very friendly staff and nice and decent enough breakfast.

Tired Hotel in need of room refurbishment

I booked the King suit and was rather disappointed. No toilet rolls in the room on arrival , no tea bags in the room , leaky shower which wet the floor through, no HD TV channels available. The rooms here feel old and tired and there needs to be a refocus both the quality of the rooms and attention to detail

I was surprised by the conditions my room was in. It was dated and grubby and didn’t feel very luxurious as your website advertised. The parking is so tight and limited you must make that aware to your guest before booking. The spa area is very unloved and small, again you must make that aware on your website - you have a small pool and Suana available, be more specific so your guest know what to expect. The suana wasn’t working which was disappointing. The whole reason I choose to stay in your hotel was because I wanted the convienence of parking on sight and use of spa facilities after my busy day. Evening Bar food was very limited! The breakfast was not to the standard of what I paid to stay with you. Food was dry and staff were not on top of checking when food was going low. Nothing was easy to get. Had to keep chasing staff. You didn’t have enough staff to cater for the number of guest you had the staff did the best they could I could see that and they were polite and pleasant. Unfortunately I won’t stay with you again especially considering the price you charged. I felt the standard I got was what I get when I stay in a Premier Inn, actually my recent experience staying in a Premier Inn was better then this. I’m frustrated I left feeling this way and knowing how much I spent to stay at the hotel!

Great friendly staff, senior hotel management team need sacking. Place needs a major refurb, tatty and tired throughout and not worth the money. Lots of plates at breakfast buffet had old dried food on them, spa was a joke, cramped and tatty

Very good I treated my daughter to stay at your hotel and to see a show at the City Hall, and we both enjoyed our stay. The only thing was the swimming pool was too hot.

As a Sheffielder who now lives elsewhere I love the central location and feel safe. The hotel rooms are very tired. A coat of paint would certainly improve things. The outise area could do with a sweep and clean. Thete does seem to be a shortage of staff which can't make things easy.

Will not be coming again. Although staff were very friendly and bar/food was nice. The pool made my whole experience drop scores. The pool was extremely hot meaning within 5 minutes we had to get out because we was sweating in the pool. And having the sauna in the exact same room as the pool didn’t help the pool in or out because of the temperature. If it wasn’t for the pool We would be rating the stay 7/8 but after witnessing the pool no higher than a 3

Well to start on first night my children bed was broken in the middle of the night, and also we book this hotel for swimming pool for 2 night, we was told that no one is allowed to swim. I will give an advice please let your customer know if you are having any issues with swimming pool because the reason we decided to go that hotel was because of your leisure facility to entertain children

Stayed here for one night. I was kindly given a room upgrade. Staff worked hard to make my stay a success. I'd definitely recommend the hotel to others. So close to the station and the town centre. Rooms are very clean.

A Really Good Location.

This hotel is in a really good location, near the train station and the town centre, though a lot of construction going on. A couple of things disappointed me about the room. First and foremost, the toilet was separate to the bathroom. Not a fan of these arrangements. Also flushing was a bit of a problem, but we learned the technique. 3 quick flushes to make it flush, lol. Crazy. The cups in the room were cardboard, with cardboard stirrers. We had to ask for more of these. The staff seemed helpful and efficient. Overall a good base for us. Down the hill to the station to train to the Peak District. Very handy.

The cardboard cups were in place in line with covid recommendations and precautions, with the lifting of these restrictions we have now gone back to providing the proper cups in line with our standards. The hotel could have provided some bedroom slippers and bathrobes for the comfort of their guest. Furthermore there was no offer of help to carry bags for 2 women to load into the called taxi. Lucky the taxi driver was helpful. Pod serviced in the car area was average with limited choice.
