From the very welcoming check in to friendly check out, was the icing on the cake for our theatre night at the Crucible Theatre. The gift in our room was a delicious surprise. The staff in all areas made my wife and I feel special at all times. This hotel will always be our choice when we stay in Sheffield.

A nice one stay stay in Novotel Sheffield City Centre. Very well positioned in the heart of the city. The upgraded room that I was given was rather tired. A comfortable bed but a sofa that would have been rejected for sale by most charity shops. A nice bathroom (shower) with a separate WC, very difficult to flush the toilet as the handle on the cistern was hard to operate. I received a nice welcome platter of delicious cakes and a glass of wine. I had a nice stay but it's time to invest some money in the rooms. The public areas are all very nice.

Enjoyed a relaxing stay at the hotel. Enjoyed the pool and room was nice. Really enjoyed the bed and pillows which was very comfortable allowing for a good sleep. One issue with the electric card reader not working on the room. This was quickly resolved while we enjoyed complementary drinks in the bar.

From check in to check out everything was great. Easy check in and allowed an hour early due to current quiet period (Covid) Room was warm and clean on arrival. Breakfast was lovely with a huge selection of hot and cold dishes and staff were very attentive. Self check out because I paid in advance. Located right in the centre of Sheffield and 5 mins walk from the station. Why go elsewhere.

It was a good stay, but.........

I would considered it as a good stay, but not that brilliant though. Firstly, I was upgraded to an Executive room which is a good thing. However, this room is good for 2 adults and 1 child. When I first arrived, the other towel and hand towel was in the wardrobe for some reason. Third day, I was given one towel and one hand towel.(seriously)!!?? Also, the smell of the toilet is not very pleasant everytime you flash it. The receptionist who dealt with me at the reception when I first arrived at the hotel was very helpful and informative. Her name is Georgia. Light form the fridge keeps coming off and on, it destructed my sleep. Also, I was working and at middle of a meeting when this banging on the wall happened and I need to ring the reception to advised the guy to stop it for a bit. Then I rang the second time, that's the time the problem was dealt with. Kindly attend and listen to customer's needs and concerns more carefully please and deal with it accordingly. Thank you

Suite Day Use Disappointing

I booked a Suite at the novotel sheffield for day use yesterday and it was very disappointing. I paid extra for a Suite and when i checked in, I found that the heating was not working so the hotel had placed two portable heaters in the room. No one told me this and, they werent switched on so the room was freezing. The shower was only running cold, may have been a faulty temperature control and there was black mould on the bathroom wall. Also i have previously stayed in these suites and they had a bluetooth speaker, but there was no speaker in this room.

My feedback/comments are as follows:- 1 - All the staff were amenable and pleasant. 2 - The breakfast was very poor i.e a) the bread was stale, it was not frest at all. b) the cereals bowls were very dirty, which I raised with the staff and he had to return about 80% of them to the kitchen. c) We witnessed one of the staff using his bare hands (on more than one occasion) to touch the bread as he was arranging them on the bread stand. He used no gloves at all. In this era of Covid, such an action is a gross faux pas 3) The room standard was below par - there were a lot of decorative blemishes i.e. patchy paint work etc

Had a lovely stay, executive queen room is very large! Free bathroom amenities and plenty of teas and coffees, although the nespreso machine frightened the life out of me when I first turned it on! Haha! I paid to have breakfast brought up to the room (because I'm a lazy sod!) the gentleman who delivered it even brought the trays inside for me, he was very friendly and polite! I usually stay in the Leopold, but they had no rooms available this time, so I stayed at the Novotel, by George am I glad I did! I think I will stay here in future!

Ideal location for a city break with good restaurants, including Cosmo and Pizza Express just behind the hotel, Sainsburys next door and Meadowhall a short tram ride away. Good pool and restaurant in hotel, rooms basic but clean. Only had breakfast in hotel but that was good quality. Pleasant and helpful staff. Our second visit and shall be happy to return.

I regret my stay! When I first checked into reception I was asked to pay for breakfast for my fiancé which had already been discussed prior and notes were on the system. I didn’t end up paying however I did find it embarrassing with my partner next to me and others could have been around. The room was a decent size however the standard of clean I feel in my opinion was poor. Areas like under the sofa and bed still had rubbish there. In the morning we went down for our breakfast at the time the reception had said (7am) and nothing had even been set out. We waited over 20min before we actually got a hot breakfast. This again was exactly the same the next day, so the last too days we didn’t even bother. This was very disappointing as we woke up early everyday as we had plans of which the first two had been disrupted. It’s not even that it’s just not a nice experience and does put a downer on your day as soon as you start the day off. The second day our TV stopped working, when we called reception they said they would have someone come up within the hour!! Ultimately we ended up swapping rooms…not ideal. The room we was given again I didn’t feel was clean. We found a vape under the sofa, someone’s old fone charger, the reception had to also come and bring a remote control as there wasn’t one in the room. The bar area looked nice so we thought to have a drink, my partner decided to get a desert, she found a hair in the plate!! There was several other issues, if you needed images of the plate with hair I can send if needed. I’m not one to complain and make a fuss as I know it has an impact on staff as customer satisfaction is important.

My twentieth or thirtieth stay at Novotel Sheffield and as enjoyable as ever. The only disappointment was breakfast. The bacon was cold and the eggs had a very tired look and were not very palatable. Bar staff and reception staff friendly and very helpful.

I am sorry that on this occasion breakfast was not as previous stays, I have passed this to the chef to ensure the quality is of the standard we usually provide. Needed a room near the city centre and this fitted the bill. Hotel was clean and comfortable and staff were in the main helpful. Added bonus of on-site parking (for a fee). Hotel was everything I expect from a Novotel
