We stay in the Novotel Sheffield City Centre quite often. The staff are very welcoming and professional. The rooms are excellent and although in the City Centre. Our stays are quiet and peaceful.

I have stayed many times at this Novotel and it is largely as expected. Two things of note: Some rooms (inc 519) have an ancient heating control. Cold air is pumped into the room via the vents no matter which way you twist the dial, impossible to turn it off, quite a chilly room. Secondly, bar shutting at 10pm is disappointing

Well located. Very easy to access. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with the room and it was solved right away. The the pool was good. Although slightly dated, the room was very spacious. Walking distance to everywhere. The food in general was not great and breakfast in particular was very average, nothing to get excited about. The quality of the bread was very low.

Only thing that stopped me giving 10 was that the EV charging was out of service. This was the reason we chose your hotel. We had a long journey and need to charge up.

Nice hotel but poor rooms

Hotel itself is in a good location and has some good services and facilities available. Parking is expensive at £18 a night. Reception staff not helpful at all but managers were really good. Unfortunately because of the room we will not be returning again- it was extremely dated with artex everywhere and the bathroom was awful. The first room we were given was dirty with hairs in the shower. They moved us to a new room which was cleaner but the toilet was very old and in a separate area to the bathroom. I was told this was the case with all the rooms. The shower cubicle was very worn and claustrophobic. The bedding and pillows were poor quality. The hairdryer was terrible and not fit for purpose. Room was cold and not enough soundproofing we could hear everything in the hallway. It was just very unpleasant and dated to the extent we would dread returning to the room each day. Not up to our standards at all and not what we expected for a 4 star hotel. Mercure next door is so much better so will be booking there in future as we have done in the past.
