Would have been nice to upgrade room, at my own cost, and maybe gotten a harbor view. Room was good, except for dead pixel on the TV.

Thank you Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour for making our stay, absolutely memorable for all the right reasons. The staff were wonderful, kind and hospitable. The rooms were clean and the hotel was perfect for our occasion.

On the day of check-in, I rang the hotel in advance to book parking, and I was told not to worry; space would be available when I arrived. When we arrived, I was rudely dismissed, being told there was no parking and to go to Wilson Parking instead; it was pouring down with rain. From my car, I called reception to explain the situation, and they tried to dismiss me again. However, I was persistent, and parking was made available. Not a great way to start. We ordered room service, and the food was inedible; my children said the pizza tasted plastic, which it did. The following morning we went down to the restaurant and found a table, there was no cutlery; I had to search for it. I waited in line to order a coffee, and I asked if they made ice chocolate; the service staff snapped at me, saying if you want a chocolate drink, use the machine around the corner. I ignored the rudeness, but the food was not great (again). We had a dinner reservation at the restaurant for that evening, which I cancelled as we did not enjoy the food or how we were treated. Instead, we went to Nick's Seafood on the other side of Cockle Bay and had a wonderful time! On our day of check out, we again went to the in-house restaurant for breakfast, only because it was pre-paid with our hotel reservation, and it was the same experience as the previous day. We found the service very rude, the food was sub-standard and lacked variety. After breakfast, when we returned to our room to pack, our key would not work. I went downstairs and got it reset, but when I tried it, the door would not open. I had to go back to the reception, and they called maintenance. Turned out the digital lock battery died. The only positives were the view from our room and the space, which was fantastic! The bathroom was a letdown, as it was dated. The amenities provided by the hotel were also a letdown, i.e., the pool and gym. It was very disappointing. For the same amount of money, I could have booked a room at Four Seasons in Circular Quay; in hindsight, I wish I had. We booked at Novotel because my children wanted to see what this hotel was like. We thought we would have a great experience. Suffice it to say that we will never come here again, nor will I recommend this hotel and restaurant to my friends, family, or peers.

We paid through booking.com We originally paid for breakfast for two however slept in & missed breakfast. We explained this to Natalia at reception at 1100hrs on the 26.06.2024, however, was curtly informed there was no refund nor could we use it to purchase morning tea at the Novotel.

Perfect location with easy 3 minute walk to ICC. Disappointing that I reported the desk lamp globe not working to Housekeeping on arrival in the morning, then again to the Accor Customer Service team that afternoon but two days later when I left it had still not been fixed.
