Stayed here only for a night, loved the location. It’s right on the Darling Harbour, we enjoyed a late night walk on the bridge. The location was so good, that during the day we explored so many things by foot. About the hotel & amenities - We paid a little extra and got the room upgraded to the suite room, which was very spacious for us (especially with a 10 year old). We got a living & dining space along with the separate bedroom , lot of closets, a bathtub in the bathroom. We invited friends over in the evening and took them for dinner in the restaurant. The closing time was 9:30 PM, so we managed our timings and were there by 9:25. But the kitchen was already closed at 9 PM and they did not take any order. So, we all got disappointed and went to the room, ordered from the In-room dining menu (very limited options) which was very inconvenient. The information could have been given clearly, that the “kitchen closes at 9 PM”, rather than the “Restaurant closes at 9:30 PM” The next morning, we skipped the buffet, had A-la-carte at The Ternary (the same one which got closed early last night). During our 1 day stay, we had all major 3 meals here, food is amazing. Otherwise, our stay, location, hotel ambiance, staff & amenities were all very good.

Very disappointed with the facilities and charges. Hotel is in a great location, however, the building is old and charging prices comparable to competitors with newer facilities. When I pay $500 for an entry level room, I expect an amazing quality room. The bathroom was old, with cracked tiles in the shower and near the toilet. stained grouting. I have stayed at hotels that charge less than $200 a night with higher end bathrooms than this room. The blackout curtain was manually operated which whilst no problem you would expect it to be automatic and remote controlled at this per night rate. On top of that I was extremely disappointed to be charged for parking at a rate I could have parked anywhere in the city. Lastly, Check out is a busy time I assume for the hotel and for guests. The hotel only had 2 staff catering to a number of guests all trying to check-out at the same time. I would suggest the hotel needs greater staffing at this key time in the morning. I will say that, the service provide by the ladies at checkin and out was excellent. They were well dressed and very pleasant.

Similar to the airline industry our rates fluctuate depending on supply and demand. During your stay we were at a high occupancy which is resulted in your room rate to be at the higher end of the scale. This was the reflected across the whole CBD during this peak time. Novotel suited my sister and my needs perfectly by offering a 2 x Dbl bed suite within close proximity of the trade fair at ICC. Breakfast included & with our Accor card ticked all the boxes. Staff were so friendly & lovely hotel room.

Central location to Exhibition Centre

Booked two rooms for 3 nights. Both rooms were on the same floor and had the same spacious layout. Plenty of room, great to have a couch and armchair with footstool. We added the breakfast (which is the main reason why we stay here, as it's so good) Had dinner at the Ternary (bookings essential - not open Monday or Tuesday) which was great. Also had dinner at the cafe/bar equally great. Short walk to the Exhibition Centre and Darling Harbour. Will definitely stay again

Well located but unfriendly

We arrived in at 10:30pm after a 12 hour travel day and the check-in attendant was extremely rude and very short. Arriving at the 10th floor, there was a roof leak so the floor was all wet and then to discover there was no mini bar. When we rang for room service, again we were rudely advised that it was not available. The shower soap & conditioner bottle were empty, I only found this out after shampooing my hair. Thankfully my daughter had brought her conditioner with her. There was mold in the shower. Our room view was amazing, we overlooked the Sofitel and their pool and were saddened to find the Novatel's pool to be old and not so inviting. Overall the location was great, the staff on departure were lovely and friendly and the breakfast & cocktails at the bar were also very lovely. We stayed at the Meriton Suites on our last night in Sydney and found the service and rooms to be a lot nicer for the same price. Friendly reception would go a long way.
