We had stayed in this hotel just before the pandemic and we had a very good room and a great experience. However this time around we were very disappointed. Because nothing seemed to work in our room and the service was very different from our first experience. It was frustrating that although we reported to reception on numerous occasions the fridge and the kettle were still not working when we checked out on our last day , when we were offered an explanation by a very friendly lady although we were checking out at this point.

The stay was perfect! Loved the room, very clean, very spacious. The mini fridge was perfect, the drinks we got stayed nice and cold. Breakfast was well organised! Only down thing was that the computer did not link to the TV, but other than that all was great!

There was a big toe nail laying next to my bed

is it so hard to have a guest friendly reception desk?

The reception desk stubbornly made a huge point to say "I CANNOT TELL YOU IF HOUSEKEEPING CAN CLEAN YOUR ROOM TOMORROW OR ANY DAY BEFORE YOU LEAVE" when, in the middle of my 3-day stay, I kindly called front desk at 5:30pm to ask housekeeping to clean my room the next day. Instead of being a tiny guest-friendly, they just said and repeated and repeated and repeated they cannot promise anything because apparently the housekeeping can decide whether or not to do room cleaning for stays shorter than 4 days. I am pretty sure the contract says we hire Novotel with room service but even if the contract says "no room service included" - would it be too hard for Novotel to hire a front desk that is a bit sympathetic or consumer-friendly? Current front desk female agent on the phone could fit well in a backoffice-work such as accountancy or schedule planner or maintenance scheduling but never to deal with public. Not a people person at all.

old room with weird theme

Room was old and the "chefs theme" was really weird. Further to this the paint work looked really badly done.

Room itself was fine, however ... Complimentary water bottle that was shown in pictures on Booking.com and mentioned on a sticker on the fridge was not present. Fridge was empty, so why waste energy by keeping it running? Espresso coffee maker promised on room description and shown in pictures not present, instead you get cheap instant coffee. Quite a bit of noise from the street outside. Breakfast at almost 20 euro too expensive. So, all-in-all a bit underwhelming.

The location of the room was a good and nice view, but the floor carpet was not clean and the TV very small. the internet was cut for 1 day and a half, and that made me buy internet for my wife to attend her online classes ( that was extra expenses that I should not bay during travel) I was expecting much more from Novetel

It is a lovely hotel, great staff, very friendly and helpful. My kids enjoyed the gifts received from the receptionist. Beds were confy, room was big and clean. Breakfast was very tasty, plenty options too. We would recommend it to anyone anytime.

Nice Hotel with parking and restaurant. The hotel offers a delicious daily breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant and a bar for refreshments. Novotel Rotterdam is easily reachable thanks to its convenient location next to the A16/E19 highway exit 25, and public transport options within walking distance. The Novotel is easy to reach by car and public transport.
