The location was good, extremely close to the tram system. The room was basic but the bed was very comfortable. My only real issue was the view- or lack thereof. I travelled to Bordeaux as a tourist, to experience the city and to admire the views- my room was an internal room, one small window facing a wall. This unfortunately is an experience I have had on several occasions, as a woman travelling alone one tends never to get the good views. I'm sure that people travelling for business or family events wouldn't mind not having a view, but please, don't forget that Solo travelers are often paying twice as much as couples do... (couples can split the room rate) So at least offer us a room with a view.

2 nights spent. Everything went well. Room was quite warm and a/c didn’t provide much relief.

Room ultra small , would good barely walk between the bed and the wall , old looks bathroom not surper clean . I assume they well positioned near citi center that why people still go there . Breakfast was ok but way to noisy and to many people at the same time . Just happy this was close to the center for city break .

Hotel in a good location, bed comfortable, breakfast spread really good. The meal we had in the restaurant was good, too, and staff were friendly and helpful. BUT when we went to get out car from the underground parking garage to leave, we found a window had been smashed. Whether this was an attempted theft or malicious vandalism, I don't know, but it delayed our departure to our next destination by several hours and was incredibly stressful - not to mention costly in phone calls. I know this is no fault of the staff or hotel - and want to mention that Alphonse was incredibly helpful and to extend greatful thanks. And while I am aware I parked "at my own risk", it was supposedly a secure area and as far as I could tell, no other cars were targeted in this way (although another British couple - who live in France - had their wing mirror smashed.) This happened some time between 10pm Thursday 4th and 9am Friday 5th. It seems there were no security cameras - I was on level -3. So while we had a very good stay at the hotel (would have been a 9 at least!) this even soured our stay. At time of writing, we have arrived at our destination in Spain and are still waiting for the window to be fixed. This will impact the rest of our holiday as we are unable to go anywhere were we have to leave the car unattended. Again, not the fault of the hotel or staff, but it has had a negative impact on our experience, and our holiday as a whole.

Although this was a lovely hotel and a very pleasant stay, the only negative aspect of my time spent at Ibis Bordeaux Centre Meriadeck was that I had what could have been a potentially serious fall when getting out of the shower. The shower in room 911 is located over a small bath where the shower screen takes up over half of the length of the bath leaving not a very big space to exit bath/shower. Also there is no slip guard on the bottom of the bath. Although I am a woman of senior years, I am reasonably fit and flexible and somehow managed a reasonably soft landing on the bathroom floor with just slight bruising to my leg. But, if I was not quite so agile or had hit my head on the toilet, this minor incident could have been a lot more serious. Although I have no intention of taking this incident further, I feel that a handrail at the end of the bath would be essential for the safety of your guests.
