Excellent stay at the Ibis. Staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and tidy, well furnished and to good standards, despite light wear and tear (paint chipping away on the stairs). Bathroom was clean as well, special mention to the clothes line in the shower, useful to dry the kids' swimwear after the pool! The food was also good and tasty, both during breakfast and dinner. The indoor pool is open but shows its age, some tiles are missing on the pool stairs. However it's big enough for the kids to play in, and is complete with a sauna, hammam and jacuzzi. Overall, an excellent stay with good value for money and a top-notch staff!
Tiny rooms, terrible food.

We originally booked a family room for three nights and let the hotel know that we had a wheelchair user in our group. The manager made contact to let us know that the family room wasn't suitable, as it was on the first floor and there was no lift. He suggested we book a wheelchair accessible room and an adjoining room, which would cost €40 more. Maybe the details were lost in translation, but the rooms cost over €50 more, per night, and they weren't adjoining, they were next door to each other. The wheelchair accessible room was very small, the bed was right next to the door. My daughter's wheelchair actually blocked the door when she was in bed. I stayed in the room with her. The sliding door to the bathroom was impossible for my daughter to close. Our room was next to the entrance to the swimming pool, on the third night the noise from the filter system woke me up. I complained about the noise, but was told nothing could be done about it. The receptionist asked if I wanted to change rooms, but I didn't want to disturb my daughter. A sleepless night followed. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant on the second night of our stay. Roast chicken was the main course. It was very disappointing, chicken breast on the bone, a tomato cut in half and watery boiled potatoes. I asked for a small portion for my daughter, she received an adult portion. It was one of the most uninspired restaurant meals I have ever eaten. With dessert and wine, our meal for three came to €96. When we checked out I reiterated my complaint about the noise. The receptionist apologised that there were no other wheelchair rooms available, even though I had been offered one the night before. She said the rooms and breakfasts had been paid in full, and I owed for the dinner. At this stage I presumed that the extra €40 was being deducted. I paid for the meal, got my receipt and we left. When I checked my bank balance later an extra payment of over €150 was taken. No mention of this was made at checkout, why say my bill was paid in full when it wasn't? We felt robbed, to put it mildly. This hotel is in a great location, the rooms are clean but very small and outdated, they are not worth the nightly rates. The wheelchair accessible room is not fit for purpose, in my opinion. The food at breakfast was good, but dinner was overpriced, mundane and indifferent. A very disappointing stay.
Tiny rooms, noisy, expensive.

Originally I booked a family room. My daughter is a wheelchair user and this room seemed ok for us. The manager of the hotel phoned me to let me know that the family rooms were on the first floor and the hotel didn't have a lift. He suggested a wheelchair accessible room and a double room for about €40 more. This was fine with us. Maybe something was lost in translation, but the rooms actually cost over €150 more for the three nights we were there. The three nights cost approximately €500. The rooms were clean but very small. I stayed in the wheelchair accessible room with my daughter. The room was suitable for someone with reduced mobility, but not a wheelchair user. The sliding door for the bathroom was impossible to close. The bed was too close to the door, in an emergency situation, a wheelchair would prevent anyone getting into the room. There was no electricity socket near the bed. On the third night of our stay our sleep was disrupted by the filter system in the swimming pool. I complained to the reception staff, but nothing could be done. It was very noisy! We had dinner on the second night. The food was overpriced, uninspired and tasteless. My daughter got an adult portion, even though I asked for a small dinner. We were charged the full dessert price for a small scoop of ice cream. The food at breakfast was excellent, thankfully! We have stayed at numerous Ibis hotels over the years, and for the most part, find them excellent value. We were very disappointed with our stay at Quiberon.
