We have stayed with our little dog over the weekend for our hikes in north of Peak District. The location is very good with free parking. The breakfast was perfectly sufficient, maybe having soy milk and yogurt on display will be useful as it is alread a standard in the hotels. We have enjoyed the stay, thank you very much.

Given incorrect key to another guests room

We arrived and were greeted by a friendly member of staff but we're not asked to enter our vehicle registration in order to avoid a parking fine, we fortunately spotted the input device by the welcome desk. After completing the registration we were given our room key, however when we entered the room it was clearly occupied by another set of guests. Thankfully they were not in the room at the time. On returning to the front desk there was no apology provided and we were just instead given a new key. On the second day when we returned to the room it had not been serviced. We had not been advised that we needed to hang a sign on the door to get the staff to clean the room and replace the consumables such as shower gel.

Having booked a superior room 4 weeks beforehand requesting a walk in shower due to mobility issues, I was dismayed to get a phone call the night before my arrival to say 'they had all been taken'. As far as I can see, either no one bothered to look at my request until the day before, or more cynically, delayed informing me in case I cancelled my booking. There was also a problem with an extremely noisy air conditioning or extractor unit somewhere in the courtyard outside. Apparently there had been other complaints, but the problem hadn't been fixed. Other than that it was fine. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the accommodation and food were as you would expect.
