We stayed in this hotel in the weeks following it becoming an Ibis hotel and the rooms were roomy, well decorated and clean and the staff cheerful and very helpful. This is why we chose to stay here again. The front desk staff were polite but gone was the cheerful welcome of before. We were handed room keys but didn't realise we had to use them to access the lift. When we asked for help, it came with a sigh. The corridor lighting was very dark and the decor made it darker. The corridor carpets were stained and dirty, probably why the lighting is kept back The room we had was very small and for 2 people to move around on there was a lot of maneuvering. The carpet did not look clean and was sticky underfoot and also stopped 2 thirds into the room where it then joined to a totally mismatched carpet that looked even worse. We did not dare go bare foot. There was no welcome information in the room or details of hotel facilities or breakfast and each bed had only 1 pillow and there were only two bath sized towels in the room. No hand towels. I don't tend to use the same towel I have used to dry intimate parts of my body to dry my face and I'm sure most other people don't either. We went to the hotel bar in the evening where there were 3 staff serving and 2 of us buying drinks. 2 of the team were serving the other guest doing a variety of cocktails but the other member continued replacing glasses and cleaning. As they made no move to serve me despite making eye contact I assumed they were the glass collector so did not ask them to serve me. However after about 4 minutes of waiting the bar manager told the person stacking the glasses to stop and serve me. Turns out they were a server all along and could have been tending to me. I ordered a white wine and a vodka and diet coke/Pepsi. The wine was served from 2 different bottles, the last couple of mouthfuls from 1 bottle then the rest from the other bottle which was a different brand of wine. I asked for the wine to be from 1 bottle of 1 brand but he shrugged and said they were both the same even when I persisted and pointed out the labels were different. For the vodka and diet coke, he brought a half full bottle of 2 litre diet Pepsi from the back. I had to ask for ice and I am glad I did because when I came to drink it, the diet Pepsi was warm and so flat there was no fizz in the drink at all. I would have returned to the bar to complain but the apathy I had received regarding the wine made me think I would not get anywhere and also the batangas at that point was arguing with an who had ordered cocktails and the bar staff had decided they did not wish to make anymore. It was becoming hostile with the 2 raising their voices at each other so we got up and left leaving our drinks behind. When we tried to sleep that night, it took a long time to be able to as the walls are so thin we could hear the people on 1 side having conversation through the night and the snoring of the people on the other In the morning ING we realised there had only been enough tea and coffee placed in the room for 1 person even though we had booked a room for 2 people

Check in good, room good, we did have a problem, with the lack of pillows, and over a 24 hour period, from arrival, we asked 4 different reception staff, for a pillow, 3 did not get us one, and the 4th, made sure, while we were out at dinner, that a pillow was put in our room, but that was 24 hrs later

Rather unwelcoming arrival , had to ask for my complimentary drink . The room was a good size with a nice bathroom although the carpet was worn and not very clean .

The hotel is well situated for most attractions in central Manchester. It is a typical Ibis hotel - what you see is what you get. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and tidy. The only downside was the coffee at breakfast which was awful and had probably never seen a coffee bean in its life.

Stayed one night on August bank holiday weekend. Despite being very busy, check in was quick and easy. The hotel is right in the centre of town near to all the shops, bars and restaurants. The room was small and the view out the window wasn't great but was clean, had a comfy bed and the bathroom modern with a decent shower. For the price it was excellent and suited all our needs. The recommended parking was 5 minutes away and was a secure multi storey. It was relatively cheap in comparison to others nearby but that was the weekend price (quite expensive in the week). Would definitely stay again for the same price

Staff wasn’t great, got told I could check in early and had a text to my mobile phone then got to the kiosk and was told it’s an automated text message. I turned up at 3 and then was told it would be a further 20 minutes to check in as the room wasn’t ready

Stayed in Manchester’s other hotel's lots of times and always been good. With Ibis I used the online checkin procedure for speedy checkin but it was ignored and we had to wait as rooms were not ready. Water coming through smoke detector and dripping on the bed, room changes, broken aircon and very noisy from a compressor outside the room.

Very disappointed. 25minutes T. pick up room keys when pre checked, not on list for breakfast made T. wait breakfast items missing better offering full cooked T. order around the corner. Room not serviced as requested, leak in shower rude staff, (not all) format of hot was great but let down let by human factors. Emailed T. drop keys as check out not necessary then inconvenience again T. phone T. arrange payment.

I wasn't expecting too much for the price we paid but was very pleasantly surprised. Check in was quick and easy . Everyone was extremely polite and helpful, a warm service with a smile. When we entered the room it was absolutely spotless , spacious and great decor , loved the ambrellas and the weather decor, even the do not disturb door hanger was hilarious shape of an ambrella. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows . The room itself was a perfect size for two people , shower was quite large , tea /coffee making facility in the room and hairdryer. The breakfast was quite good but i would say ditch the bacon buns because they do go hard , but what can you do during unprecedented times . The whole place felt covid secure so we had no worries there . Location is brilliant , 2 minutes walk from everywhere. Loads of shopping , takeaways , restaurants and bars within walking distance . We parked in the NCP and got discount through the hotel stamping the parking ticket on checkout. I would recommend 100% to anyone . Fantastic job by the staff .

Short walk from everything needed in Manchester, staff were all friendly and efficient, hotel is very clean with quirky rooms spacious and clean, safety measures in place. Over all an Excellent night sleep and stay. Highly recommend and will stay again soon.
