Unfortunately bad sleep

The hotel staff were kind and accommodating, the room was lovely. Unfortunately the position of our room onto a back street meant a lorry or bin lorry was loading or unloading extremely loudly for several hours in the morning which lead to a terrible sleep. I am unsure if our windows were broken. We were 5 floors up and it sounded like our windows were wide open. Perhaps the windows need updating.

We’re pleased to hear you found our staff kind and accommodating and that you enjoyed the room. However, we’re sorry to learn that your sleep was disrupted due to external noise. As the hotel is a Grade II listed building, we are required to preserve many of its original architectural features, including the windows. Unfortunately, this limits our ability to make structural changes such as installing modern double-glazed windows. While we take every step possible to minimize external noise, being located in the heart of the city can sometimes present challenges. We truly appreciate your understanding and are grateful for your feedback. Should you choose to stay with us again, please don’t hesitate to reach out ahead of your visit. Was central and convenient. Bar staff and receptionist very friendly. Nice foyer bar area. Lovely tapas style food at the bar. Good rates. Breakfast was an another hotel at the back of the Ibis. Just 50 meters. Breakfast was adequate. Bedrooms good, though bathroom was in a pod and there was no insulation noise privacy. Would stay again.

Absolutely awful and disappointing experience!!! They promised you a comfortable room just to give you one with a malfunctioning toilet. Wake up at 2am to use the restroom and after I flush the water tank didn’t stop making that awful noise of filling up. Water running and the tank noise it was an absolute nightmare!!! I thought of calling the receptionist but it was 2am so I didn’t want to wake up my husband to change rooms. Next day spoke with the receptionist about it and she couldn’t care any less! Avoid as you book a room for a comfortable night sleep and you end up with a crappy one
