Visited Vienna in late February 2023 and was immediately smitten with the city. I extended my visit to Vienna and booked three nights at Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum to be a bit closer to Innere Stadt. My check-in/out experience was okay. For a fee, I was able to check in early. The standard room I booked was cozy and clean. I had two quibbles with the bathroom. One, the large countertop basin consumed most of the counter space and left little room to place personal toiletry items. Two, there was no shelf or mounted dispensers in the shower for the refillable shower amenities (body wash, shampoo and conditioner bottles). These items were placed in an inconvenient location above the toilet. To use the refillable shower amenities, the guest has to place the bottles on the shower floor. Not even a soap dish (built-in or mounted) in the shower. It is a casual, three-star hotel. Fantastic location! A short walk to the Danube Canal (Donaukanal), St. Stephen's Cathedral, Graben Street and transit stations.

Pillows and bed really let this down!

This hotel is in a great location, stayed in a premium room that included a minibar with soft drinks, also great. The coffee machine was a great extra too. Room decor was lovely and we really liked the style, shower and bathroom were also fantastic. The main reason for the average review is because of the terrible air con plus the bed and pillows, the pillows were awful and bed was very uncomfortable which meant we didn’t sleep well. Tip- ask for a room at the back of the hotel, our room faced the front and was v noisy early in the morning.

We regret that your were not satisfied with the bed and pillows, all the rooms are new renovated also the beds and pillows are new - we are sorry that you could not sleep well. During winter time, there is no air condition in the rooms, only heating is possible. All our rooms are facing the street side, there are no rooms on the back side. Located in the heart of the old town with all the best shopping and restaurants within an easy walk. The hotel has a restaurant and bar attached to it, which serves a very good breakfast each morning. The bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion. There is a complimentary dressing gown and slippers. The bed and pillows are very comfortable.

Great place, perfect location, perfect room (comfy, clean, great shower, free coffee/tea and minibar, helpful nice staff). we stayed in the privilege room. The restaurant was not great (we tried one dinner) , and so many breakfast options right nearby. Will return again!

Stayed 3 nights. This is in the centre of the shopping area and short walk from train station - great location. Small room but nicely decorated and quite modern. Peculiar having a double bed with 2 single duvets … nice though … would return. Stayed room only so couldn’t comment on breakfast - lots of restaurants nearby.
