Worst Hotel Experience!

My wife and I just returned from our European vacation which we started at the Novotel London West. When we checked out on June 1st, I spoke to the hotel Manager about the horrible stay we had. The Manager assured me that he would get back to me via e-mail in a couple days after he “investigated” the booking and our stay. To date I have not received a response. The issues I raised with him were: We were assigned a “Disability" room, which my wife and I are not disabled, and at that time we did confirm with our travel agent that this was not requested. The room had a bad odour and when the fridge was opened, the odour was over powering. My wife went to the front desk to inform them of the room condition and to ask to be moved to a non-disability room. They indicated that a disability room was requested when the hotel was booked and that there were no other rooms available except for a different disability room. We moved to the other disability room which its condition was just as bad. The carpet was filthy and soaking wet from the door of the room all the way to the bed. My wife went back to the front desk and informed them of the soaked carpet. Again, no offer to send housekeeping to clean room and dry out carpet. At this point, my wife requested towels to place on the we carpet which never arrived prior to check out. In an attempt to dry the carpet our selves and to remove some of the odour we tried to open the window, because our room faced a main motorway we could not open a window due to the traffic noise. 2 weeks later since our stay at the Novotel London West I sent an email about our concerns and that the Manager has not replied to my concerns. Still no reply!

Bad experience from start to finish

The entire experience, from beginning to end, was absolutely dreadful. We checked in at 3 pm and went to reception to request the sofa bed to be prepared while we went out for dinner, even though we had asked for this a month in advance via email. However, upon our return, the sofa bed remained untouched. We asked for it again at reception, along with towels, which were also not delivered. Despite calling room service, no one brought the towels. We had to share towels, which is quite unhygienic, given the lack of service. Even after informing reception a second time, the sofa bed was still not made upon our return at 23:00. It wasn't until 23:50 that we finally received the towels and the bed was made, but the sheets had marks and were dirty, appearing as though they hadn't been changed. Considering the high price we paid for just one night, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel; it was a terrible experience.

Left my wash bag in room. Contacted hotel. They told me they had it, even described the content. But now ignoring messages, blocked my co. emails, won't return my calls. There was aftershaves, cash, electric shaver, keys (had to have lock changed). All to the value of about €600. Disgusting non service. Whoever is meant to be dealing with complaints should be absolutely ashamed, they need to find another job. Ignoring my emails is disrespectful. There was cash in it, so I can summise it has disappeared!

Bathroom had poor flushing and no follow up despite multiple reports to concierge. Mini Bar claims complimentary top up daily, but do not top up all items daily. A far cry in standards compared to stay at Mercure Nottingham Sherwood Hotel with same rating. Much bigger room and better service staff there. Do make a trip and evaluate.
