Ok for one night to sleep, but expensive for the quality

Rooms were very standard, especially bathrooms and hallways/stairs were very dated, we expected it to be more modern. Unfortunately, we booked it due to the swimming pool (kids were very excited), just to be told it is not open yet (despite the great weather). Furthermore, we were not amused when we were hit with a EUR 7.50 parking fee. This is fine for a hotel in the city center, but this Novotel is on the outskirts with sufficient space and street parking.

We acknowledge your dissatisfaction with the additional parking fee. We also understand your disappointment regarding the seasonal swimming pool not being available during your stay. The availability of our outdoor pool is dependent on the weather and season, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Hotel with a lot of potential, but not paying enough attention to (basic) details

I think all previous summaries are accurate. Great location, great lobby, great potential BUT really the basics are missing, especially cleaning and maintaining the rooms and the property. There was garbage on the floor 4 days in a row, meaning that no one really cleans the rooms and especially under the sofa beds, it hasnt been cleaned for ages. I understand that getting people is more difficult, but long term this is destroying the hotel and will not help anyone. Also cutting the grass and maintaining the garden would be an easy job with a lot of impact (on the overall impression). Also the staff are all super good and nice, but from my personal impression all part time students which sometimes makes the breakfast area also very messy (not their mistake, but you need some experienced people). Price wise cheap for Netherlands, but way too expansive for what you get

Tired hotel, good breakfast

Traveled as a family and booked the hotel for the pool which was not open when we arrived. The halls and bedroom looked tired and could do with an update, particularly the carpet on the hall. We had a family room which was very cramped, the main bed was comfortable but the second bed was a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable, comparable to sleeping on a plank of wood. At almost €200 per night it was also disappointing to find we had to pay extra for parking at the hotel. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of variety
