I hadn’t been to Sao Paolo for a couple of years and stayed at the Grand Mercure. I had the privilege to have breakfast at the Aquarelle, two days in a row. Where my company and I were served by waiter Marcos. From the moment we walked in, he welcomed us with a smile and greeted and served us in a very warm manner. He memorized our orders (6 people) without taking a single note. And everything was served in a effective and timely matter. Seeing Marcos in action reminds us that ‘waiting / waiter profession’ is truly an art. Which in addition to his warm personality, he has mastered.

Nice room but awful service

Rooms were clean and nice. I was able to get a early check in. When entering, during the stay and when leaving front desk service was not good. I was not getting anything extra as a platinum member. People were not nice but just bluntly saying answers. At the breakfast no one greeted me. When leaving i asked for a late check out cause i had a food poisoning but they said that ”no, for this category not possible”. Not even saying sorry that it was not possible. However, still in the internet i would have been able to book the similar room for next night so I dont know why i was not able to get the late check out. So i had to wait 4 hours in the lobby for my plane. Sorry to say but i will not be coming back for this hotel
