Not bad I guess, but not great... this is actually a simple motel that doesn't live up to Novotel name.

 Stayed here for a night on a business stay - convenient to my appointment the next day and having stayed in MANY Novotels before and been happy was an obvious choice. Easy to find, easy to park, grim to look at - a concrete block of a place. I sent a friend the picture attached who said it looked like something from the town of Pripyat next to Chernobyl… ‘Most functional comrade…’

Needs a facelift. To be fair - inside is more modern and tidy.

Room - no huge complaints - good bed, good space, good temperature. The typical Accor separate toliet and bathroom which bothers some, but quite common in France and ok with m. No bath, but shower good and hot. Amenities basic (no biscuits on tea tray, no glassware for water, just paper cups (horrible!), small TV) but comfortable and no other issues.

 I arrived quite early so had time to kill to read news so decided on couple of drinks in bar. There WERE several guests in the bar, but getting a drink both times involved either going to reception or wandering around rear corridors having to go into kitchen and asking for someone to serve me. There was simply never anyone there. When the waitress did arrive - utterly miserable and looked totally put out to have been disturbed at me paying over £10 for a glass of wine.. Drink selection average, but drank both listening to very noisy receptionist taking her calls on loudspeaker and listening to some calls to internal Novotel staff hearing her complain about the management - a great look for the company!

 Dinner menu was very limited, but to be fair I had a half decent steak and the waiting staff were quick and friendly on this and a credit. Final drink in the bar area. It seems a chap had 'dared' to take his drink with him out of the front doors, I presume to vape or smoke, and I heard an almighty shouting from a man who looked like manager. He was telling this chap to take his drink out the back not the front. Now, that may have been the rules, but if anyone in a hotel spoke to me the way that staff member did I would be asking for a refund. He treated him like utter scum - a hotel guest. The poor chap looked embarrassed and upset. Awful. Breakfast typical buffet affair - nothing out of this world, and no fried eggs, but hot and acceptable. I do remember Novotel breakfast being better than this though…
 Premier Inn is far better than this one. All in all - rather average and not what I have experienced with Novotel before. Needs a major management overhaul. I thought about rating of 2.5 as just below average, but Tripadvisor doesn't allow. Still, I think the 2 star rating is more realistic due to the service.

Issue with my booking and staff sorted it straight away. Good room. God breakfast. Great to walk to the arena on the path only 20 mins. Shown on Google maps walking. The only issue is the all.com site as you can’t edit reservations so the staff have to do it which leave it open to human error.

Check in was easy and was checked in by a lovely lady for both my rooms Food in restaurant was awful chicken was bone dry 99% of staff were AMAZING The bar manager was rude and arrogant and they way he treated staff was appalling thankfully they were clearly used to it and just continued with there work with a smile

I booked a normal room with a sofa, when checking in I was provided a room without a sofa and what was more frustrating it was a accessible shower which I did not book. I reverted to the receptionist and she said there is nothing she could do or offer. There was an issue with the drain and it made very loud noises constantly while the water was flowing, water went everywhere while showering and there was no means of cleaning it, no squeegee etc. Again reported to the receptionist whom said someone from maintenance will come but they did not and instead I was left with towels. Very frustrating.

We’re really sorry for the mix-up with your room and the issues with the shower. That’s definitely not the experience we want for our guests. We’ll address these maintenance concerns and improve our communication so this doesn’t happen again. Thanks for your patience.
