5 star hotel service within an old building Sofitel Broadbeach is a rare example of how a 5-star product and service can still be delivered within an older, outdated building. As always, I'll cover my experience, highlighting both the good and the areas for improvement. PROS • Exceptionally friendly and warm check-in – brilliant job by Jessica at reception. • Prime location in the heart of Broadbeach. • Very comfortable bed. • Quality toiletries, though slightly on the fragrant side. I’d recommend offering alternatives; previously, Sofitel offered L’Occitane products. • Stunning views from the 19th floor. • Strong water pressure in the shower. • High-quality in-room amenities like towels, shaving kits, combs, etc. • Highly professional guest service—prompt and efficient when needed. • Excellent buffet breakfast with delicious croissants, as you’d expect from Sofitel. However, the absence of a fresh juice station hints at some cost-saving measures. • The hot tub, heated pool, and cold pools are great fun for both kids and adults. • Complimentary glass of very tasty French sparkling wine—a class touch. • A thoughtful welcome gift: a complimentary bottle of brut, fresh fruit, and chocolates to celebrate our special occasion. CONS • The facilities are showing their age and are in dire need of renovation. I'm quite particular about the hotels we choose, but we were very happy with our stay. While Sofitel Broadbeach can’t compete with newly renovated hotels like the JW Marriott, which boasts tropical fish swimming areas, a water slide, and stunningly updated rooms and restaurants, it is significantly more affordable ($340 vs. $490). Despite the older facilities, Sofitel Broadbeach offers true 5-star service, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is definately not 5 star. Desperately needs upgrading. Lifts don’t work. We were stuck in the lift on 2 seperate occasions over our 4 day stay. Room cleaning is substandard and breakfast room staff are overworked so it took quite some time to get seated and waiting some time for coffees.

Staff are nice. Location is good. Bed is comfy. Welcoming glass of Champagne in the Lobby. Shocked to see the dining room. Chairs' cloth are all torn. What a disgrace for any hotel at any level. Breakfast is as basic as an Ibis hotel at the most. Carpet next to the entrance to the dining room/pool, smell and needs to be replaced. Toilets in the Lobby area smell. As a Platinum member, we were Two people, yet Welcoming gift was one tiny bottle of water and some nuts. Even at Ibis Budget I received each time more. They kept on changing the assigned room and when got there 3pm, there were luggage of other guests inside the room. Should be demoted to a Novotel/ Mercure and regardless, change those torn/worn out Chairs asap! Ill refrain from adding pics as guests wont book it if they saw that.

The hotel staff were all very lovely The only downside and not hotel problem is that the room we have faces gold coast highway. Especially at night when hoons are about revving there cars. Despite being on the 21 floor was very loud

This used to be premium experience 15-10 years ago. Now feels old, run down and in need of life. This is for the entry foyer but critically the room and really most important the bathroom.
