Please review email sent with photos to info @Mantragroup.com.au see below :- Hi Mantra group My wife and I and my son's family had a 7 night stay at the Break free Peninsula, in Surfers Paradise from the 12th Sept to the 18th Sept.. I would like to express my disappointment on a number of issues with this stay after paying $2100 for the 7 nights which I feel was not value for money. The cleanliness of the unit ( 17B ) was nothing short of disgusting ( see photos attached ) After the second day of staying here, my 2 yr old grandson developed a rash all over his body which was due to dust mite . Two days after we left it had all cleared up . 1. Every day there would be some kind of " bugs " on the floor in the hallway, lounge room and toilet area in the bathroom. Nearly every day I would sweep them up only to notice they would be back. 2. Walls in several areas of the dining area were stained with drink or coffee stains and not cleaned up at all......these could have at least been wiped down by the cleaners before new tenants move in. 3. In fear of contacting a disease or the like, I did not want to use the filthy air conditioner units as the vents were disgusting not to mention the air filters full of dust. 4. The laundry.....where do I start........the ironing board was full of dust , the inches of dust between the wall and dryer units and washing machine was terrible, a rusted and not cleaned sink unit , a washing machine that continually leaked water all over the floor , air vents that had never been cleaned in God knows when, and are covered in an inch full of dust. 5. Bathroom.......edging around bath tub in corners full of mould and dirt build up, floors not cleaned properly .........toilet not flushing properly and needing to flush a second time.......toilet seat and unit old and needs replacing. 6. No Wi-Fi available unless paid for.....these days, nearly every hotel etc gives free wi fi 7. No mop/bucket supplied to clean stained or dirty floors.......we were told there is no mop supplied with this premises 8. The allocation of parking spaces is an absolute shambles with 3 different people dealt with at reception that didn't really know what was going on . One minute they would allocate a second car space and 3 times someone else parked in these spaces......at the end with one night to go, we were told by Mr Body Corporate to go park on the street There didnt seem to be a system that marked off spots as they were allocated. 9.After hours people who were rung on several occasions, not helpfully and basically said we need to follow what the body corporate has said and you the customer are wrong. ( as she put it “ this is undisputable “ ) I have got to say that the cleaning standards in the place leave a lot to be desired as I work with a cleaning company and these things brought to light a standard well below the expectation of the Mantra group I am sure. I and my family can only rate this place at 2 out of 5 and that would only be due to the view that we had. Upset we are at paying that money for something we had a higher expectation of and feedback that we filter back to our friends and family about our stay here can only be damaging to your group and the fact that we will not return to this but look elsewhere next time. Sorry about this but unless you know, you can't fix for future bookings......read the reviews , they're nearly all complaining about the same thing…..I wish I had of read these first Regards John Mob…..04…

There is no mention of major renovations taking place at the location when you book. We arrived after hours at 7:30pm. We had issues using the after hours entry system as we discovered we had to press number 9 repeatedly to get it to actually work. This is after we had had to circle the block to try to find a park because we could not get our car past the boom gates. We had informed booking of the height of our vehicle, the one allocated was too low to allow us to park. The awesome man on security helped us out and found one suitable. On entry to our rooms we discovered that the floors were sticky. There were stains on both the sheets and blanket. There we no lamps in the main bedroom and as the switch was located past the ensuite it made it very difficult to navigate to the bed when the light was turned off. There was a lamp in the second bedroom which has bent prongs preventing it being plugged in. The light switch to the room was in the hall way. The main bathroom was missing the switch to turn on the lights! There was simply a hole where the switch used to be. There was a child's sock behind the door and another in the dryer- They were not a match :( The laundry was area was covered in lint and soap scum. The fry pan in the drawer had egg left on it. The glass doors leading to the balcony was covered in greasy children's hand prints, I am finding it difficult to believe it could have been just the previous family it was so foul. The coffee table was covered in crumbs and lettuce remains on top and beneath it was popcorn of both the corn AND chicken kinds. A child's slinky was sitting just under the bottom of the couch. The following morning we reported these issues to reception - That day while we were out cleaners changed the sheets and cleaned most of the floor, at least it was no longer sticky but the popcorn chicken and popcorn remained under the coffee table, they replaced our bath towels but took away our tea towel and did not replace it. We just used a hand towel from the bathroom instead. While we there the electricians arrived and installed the light switch which then allowed 4 of the 6 downlights of that room to turn on. They also bent the prongs straight on the lamp so it could be plugged in. That was it, there were still no lamps in the main bed room, we placed the sock from the dryer with the one behind the door so the family can collect next year. I considered leaving a note next the the food under the coffee table to warn people not to eat it as it had been there awhile but I did not want to make the place messier. The glass doors were still disgusting, we have moved the slinky to the TV cabinet so the next family can play with it. Oh we cleaned the fry pan for you. We have stayed at Breakfree multiple times before without issues and do not expect perfect but this was the most disgusting place we have ever stayed in. This room was not in a state to be rented out.

Room was not to a clean standard, lounge was falling apart and black fabric and dirt on the floor under the lounge. Bathroom was not clean
