Mercure Brive Hotel 4 stars

We wanted a convenient overnight stay when driving to Spain. The hotel is very near the motorway and extremely easy to find. It has a large, surface car park. The service is exceptional. We experienced a minor problem when one of the bedside lights refused to work. A new bulb was fitted immediately and, when that failed to solve the problem, we were immediately offered another room. The receptionist gave me detailed directions to the nearby lake which proved to be a pleasant spot to walk with our dog. Dinner was excellent. If we are near Brive again we shall certainly return.

All the staff are very helpful and the location is perfect for my needs and the hotel provides all the services that I require. As a vegetarian it is good that there is food I can eat during the evening, this is not usual in France. The room provides all that I need with one exception that a small table in the lounge area would be useful (I always use the Suite).

I think it's the best hotel in the area. It's perfect for short stay - a few days, in case of longer stays hotel is not perfectly prepared for.

We have stayed in over 40 Mercure/Accor hotels in France during recent years, the majority of times in Privilege rooms or Junior Suites. Our stay in room 320 in Brive was spoilt by the room being without doubt the smallest ever experienced. It was minute, so much so that there was not even room for a wardrobe or a drawer to place our clothes. There was a curtain type arrangement in one corner of the room which we took to be a substitute. Added to that the electricity in the room was most dangerous and in need of repair work. We should have made more of our concerns and disappointment at the time, but it was pointed out to us that a professional Rugby team were staying at the hotel and rooms were in short supply. We did nor stay for dinner, although breakfast was acceptable.

A well run, very pleasant hotel. The room was excellent, everything was clean and fresh. I have stayed before and this hotel doesn't disappoint. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of dishes available. Sadly on the night I stayed (Sunday evening) the restaurant was closed but there was room service.

Once found, hotel exceeded expectations. The address gave us problems., The address needed the words "Lieu-Dit" inserted on our Sat Nav before Le Griffolet - a small map showing the way to the hotel on your acknowledgement would have saved us nearly an hour in finding you. Once found very good visit indeed.

Very nice hotel, with very friendly personnel. The decoration is very pleasant and modern. Food in the restaurant is excellent (dinner and breakfast as well). Parking for cars was a bit disorganised. because a bus was taking a lot of the space. Rooms are very well.

Our second stay here on drive South to Spain. Convenient location. Nice pool area. Good parking. Acceptable rooms and breakfast. Great shower!

Excellent swimming pool, set in lovely grounds. Bedrooms clean & tidy. Restaurant handy with tasty food. Staff friendly. We enjoyed our overnight stay.

Excellent and friendly service, a very comfortable room, convenient and high quality food and above all a "country/rural feel" even though the hotel is on an industrial estate and right next to the motorway. Will definitely use this hotel again.

We spent four days using the hotel as a resort with its great pool and wonderful restaurant. The personnel at all levels were friendly and efficient a pleasant place to say. the only slightly negative thinfg as that the facade is a little 'tired' and needs a new coat of paint. the rooms, if a little small were very comfortable and the modern shower in the bath room a pleasure.
