Good Hotel with room for improvement

Reception was not particularly friendly on arrival. Later was better. Service in the bar / restaurant was poor. It was a mix of a bar and restaurant with limited bar space. Service was very slow and the tables were left for ages with all the dirty plates on the table. Often for over an hour which was quite uninviting. Some guests left before ordering as it took too long. The room we had was good an we had no complaints here. Breakfast was also good. Location is good too A credit card was not asked for so we could not charge to the room. Not a big deal but that seems to have happened to others if the queues to pay, causing more delays, are anything to go by. Staff were friendly and not lazy but poorly managed I believe. The hotel is not cheap so it is a shame it wastes its opportunities.

I have stayed at the hotel many times, it’s allways a great place to stay, but unfortunately it was too overcrowded in the breakfast room. Conference attendees were holding blocks of seats for colleagues to join them. I decided to come down later to avoid the rush but the buffet had not been adequately restocked.

This is an absolutely excellent hotel. This is my second stay. I chose it for its location, cleanliness, and delicious breakfast. My family was also pleased. This time, the minibar was smaller than on my previous trip. Previously, there was wine and champagne, but it was nice that it was free.
