Wondering what to do in Pattaya? Immerse yourself in the vibrant sights and sounds of Pattaya’s nightlife hotspots.
Nothing epitomises the “go hard or go home” spirit like Walking Street, a 500-metre strip lined with neon-drenched bars, clubs and restaurants in Pattaya, Thailand. From a sub-zero bar that takes “chill” to a whole new level to one with ringside seats at a live Muay Thai fight, come take a walk down Pattaya’s infamous entertainment district for a memorable night out.
Sitting at the entrance of Walking Street, Pattaya Beer Garden is an ideal spot to kick off a night of revelry. Whether it is food, cheap drinks or a boxing match that you are after, this place has it all. Tuck into a meal at the establishment’s restaurant, which serves a mix of local and international fare, including pad thai (a local stir-fried rice noodle dish), basil chicken and cheeseburgers.Once you have whet your appetite, move the party to the balcony, which looks out on the surrounding Pattaya Bay. If you are on the hunt for heart-pumping action, then you will be glad to know that the venue houses a boxing ring, where live exhibition Muay Thai fights are held on most evenings. Patrons who have had a dose of liquid courage are welcome to have a go!
Whether you are looking to people-watch or dance the night away, Candy Shop has something for everyone. Just a short walk from Hotel ibis Pattaya, the open-fronted bar boasts a lively, Mediterranean-inspired exterior and live bands that play a good selection of hip hop, funk and soul tunes.Watch the crowd trickle in as you settle back with a beer at an outdoor table, or show off some moves on the dance floor after you have had a tipple or two. The venue is open from 8pm until late, perfect for night owls and after-dinner drinks in the heart of Walking Street.
If you love karaoke, then Woodball Pattaya Beach is the perfect place to “duet”. Offering a three-hour all-you-can-drink deal for under US$20 and access to private karaoke room s, there is no better place to hold a sing-off with friends new and old. To fuel your karaoke adventures, head up to The Roof, an aptly named rooftop bar and diner that provides sweeping views of Pattaya Bay. Here you can enjoy dinner, sip cocktails and/or swig local beers while grooving to easy-listening tunes.
V20 Cocktail Bar is the perfect escape from the bustling crowds, offering an excellent selection of spirits in one of Pattaya’s cooler venues — literally. The highlight of the venue is the titular Ice Cube, a room chilled to -11 degrees Celsius. Bundle up in a jacket, hat and gloves, which are available on-site, and keep your insides warm with an assortment of delicious flavoured vodka shots. If you prefer your beverages a little sweeter, shimmy over to the igloo-themed V20 Cocktail Bar for classic cocktails such as martinis and mojitos that cost less than US$10 each, and more unique tipples like mango mojitos and imported ciders for a steal — less than US$6. Right in the heart of Walking Street, the bar is hard to miss with a bright blue sign shining over its window. The eagle-eyed among you may even spot a polar bear waving from a window to passers-by.
