Family tour, my son rent car, hope come again! But no shuttle!殘念です

🏆 A Wise Pivot from Marriott: Uncovering Hidden Gems & World-Class Hospitality Trip Type: Family Birthday Trip Member Status: Accor Platinum & Marriott Platinum As a holder of Platinum status with both Marriott and Accor, my itinerary for this trip was centered around Shirahama. While Marriott Shirahama is a fantastic property, I am incredibly happy with my decision to choose Grand Mercure Wakayama Minabe this time. 👑 The Crown Jewel: Unparalleled Service The hardware is excellent, but Ms. Katou and the Front Desk Supervisor are the true heartbeat of this hotel. Highest Accolades: I cannot thank them enough. Their level of empathy and professional flexibility is truly world-class and rare to find in the industry today. The Impact: They went above and beyond to support my family, turning a great trip into a flawless, unforgettable memory. They are the primary reason I would choose this hotel again. Special Mentions: Mr. Yamataka (Feb 1st): Thank you for the heartwarming birthday surprise notification. Nozomi Ikebata: Gratitude for the seamless pre-arrival arrangements. 🍶 The "Hidden Gem" Discovery: Local Sake One specific highlight surprised me: the quality of the local sake selection. Recommendation: The local Wakayama sake "長久" (Chokyu) served here is a masterpiece. The Verdict: Its subtle aroma and incredibly smooth texture make it superior—in my personal opinion—even to the world-famous "獺祭" (Dassai). Note: Finding such a gem here was a delightful bonus. 🍽️ Dining & Atmosphere Dinner Buffet: A must-try featuring Pan-seared Foie Gras and Wagyu Shabu-Shabu. Restaurant Staff: The senior staff members bring a sincere warmth and a calming presence that sets the perfect tone for dining. 🏨 Room & Constructive Feedback Condition: Excellent rooms; the nearby park is perfect for children. 💡 Suggestion for Management (Winter Season): The Corner Rooms offer stunning views, but the extensive glass makes them chilly late at night. Proposal: Providing small electric heaters for these rooms would make the stay perfection. Summary: I bypassed the Marriott and discovered something better: exceptional hospitality from Ms. Katou and the Front Desk Supervisor, accompanied by exquisite local flavors.

The room is spacious and comfortable. However, the toilet is dim and worn out. With the low hotel fees and friendly staff, it should be consider value for money. Unfortunately, the Minabe station for taking the hotel shuttle is a nightmare for old or disabled people. There is no elevator and we have to carry our bags to climb up and down the stairs.
