The hotel is in a lovely old building with interior decor in keeping with the style. The staff are very helpful, but they are overstretched. The hotel is centrally located a short walk from the metro2 line and the SNCF train. I'd recommend the train, although less frequent the metro is overcrowded like nothing I've seen elsewhere, including Paris. The bed was comfortable, but there was only one pillow per person which made for a less comfortable sleep. The room was quiet and no street noise from outside could be heard. Roubaix has not a lot to offer as a town, and we struggled to find anywhere for dinner open in the evening as a lot seemed to close mid-week. The hotel has a restaurant but the menu is limited in choice so it didn't suit us, which was disappointing. If I needed to be in Roubaix for some particular reason I'd stay here again, but I wouldn't recommend it as a tourism stop.

Well located, fake scramble eggs, no iron inside room

I liked the room AC and the bed comfort. Pillow was too big and hard (only one type). No iron or ironing board in the room. I stayed for business and couldn’t iron my shirts!! Breakfast was ok, but need fresher pastries and the scrambled eggs were very bad (some fake egg mix not real eggs)

Great building

It was a good stay in a well decorated building in central Roubaix. The room were standard for a Grand Mercure and the A/C system was not able to cope with full night usage. The staff were responsive but given the low occupancy the staffing felt below minimum requirement. Same goes for the restaurant, very nice cuisine and well priced but not opened on weekend... Keep going and please keep these city centre hotel open for much longer.
