Nice place to stay. Great location. We stayed in 2011 and 2012 and came back this year. The few requests we made were accommodated without a fuss.

Apartment was a let down

The location for a young family was great. Walking distance to Cavill Ave and transport was very easy. Great restaurants around. Views were fantastic, even just on the 4th floor. The location and views could not be faulted at all. And the late check-in process was relatively easy. However, the state of the apartment was very dusty upon arrival. The floors weren't vacuumed. The kitchen is very dated with appliances that were not easy to use. The cutlery looked dirty before even using it. There was a very small air-conditioning until, located in the dining room which didnt not do anything to cool the apartment. And one in the master bedroom. The kids rooms, 1 had a ceiling fan, the other had a pedestal fan and there was no PowerPoint for it. I had to ask reception for an extension cord. The TV didn't have all of its functions. Which for the kids in the morning made things very difficult. The room had a foxtel unit, and we eventually got the foxtel code off reception, but then was told that the foxtel was out in the building. The toilet roll holder in the ensuite was falling out of the wall, barely hanging in the wall. There were 2 door handles that were coming apart from the door also. The water pressure and shower heads weren't a nice experience. In the ensuite, turning the shower off, the pipes would rattle in the walls. On the second day, one of our children had closed the door to the bathroom, and the door got stuck. The door couldn't be opened and we had to request reception to come up to send maintenance up to fix it. When I first went down to reception to mention some of these faults with the room we were staying at, the receptionist made a really unsettling alarming comment that was, "oh yes, we are well aware of the things wrong with room ____". The front door handle was tricky at times to use, the key would need multiple attempts to turn. My wife had thought she had locked it multiple times when we were out, and coming back to find that it was unlocked. The outdoor pool of the esplanade tower we found was dirty. With a lot of the surrounding plants and bugs had been left in the pool, however, the indoor pool was very nice to use, and was vacant most of the time. Though, trying to use the sauna, there were pieces of the woodwork missing and didn't hold in the heat or steam. I would also say that the room we were given wasn't the smartest selection for a family with young kids. The shutters on the kids bedrooms still let a lot of light through. And there was a lot of glass furniture that wasn't designed with children in mind (coffee table, dining table, side table and 2 hall tables). However, the worst part of the apartment were the couches. They were unusable. The cushions were sinking into the back of the couch to the point that when sitting down, you were almost folded in half. Unless I used all the 2 pillows to sit ontop of while sitting on the couch, they were incredibly uncomfortable. While the location and views can't be beaten, the apartment itself had a lot to be desired.

Hi, thank you for the opportunity to review my stay, I want to commend you on the following good things. Communication before arriving Property Location and view. Service at the front desk was very welcoming :-) But as with anything, I think you need to improve the following: The state of the hotel and rooms, it looks very tired and requires a touch-up. There was a broken chair on my balcony, the carpet needs replacing, and the beds need changing. Your $200 bond process - after 6 days this has still not been refunded which is very worrying, I know from my experience from working in hotels that a receptionist can refund this on the spot by removing the hold on the CC Machine. This point alone will determine whether I use BreakFree again on my next trip Thank you Karen

Well located but room old

Room was under par. Carpets totally stained, cupboards in kitchen not closing properly. Washing machine did not function correctly would not finish cycle. Internet was intermittent had to join Accor to get a modem. Not all TV channels advertised were available . When reporting this was told they would get building maintenance on to it but we got no feedback at all.
