This hotel is in a great location, it’s a 2 minute walk to the Main Street which is full of bars, restaurants and shops. The room is a good size with a balcony that has a spa bath on it. I wouldn’t however describe it as 4 star as when we arrived at 8pm, reception was closed. There were instructions informing us we had to dial a number on the intercom which went unanswered. I then rang the number for the night porter which also went unanswered so rang number on intercom again. The lady gave us instructions on getting the key from the outside safe. The hallway looks quite dated and smells a bit musty (there was a leak in the ceiling which had a bucket beneath it, so that’s probably why). The swimming pool needs repainting on the floor. Our room was not cleaned in the 3 nights we stayed. There were 2 pods for the coffee machine with a note stating we could purchase more if we wanted them. There was no water in the room which I would expect, especially in a 4* establishment.

The Mantra Aqueous is centrally located in Port Douglas just around the corner from the main street which has lots of restaurants, shops, bars to choose from and in the other direction is a short stroll to the beach. The hotel has 4 large pools with sun chairs which is a must in the north Qld heat. Our one bedroom apartment was self contained, roomy and overlooked the pool area. The hotel also has a lift which is convenient and the reception staff were friendly and helpful with any questions. Also being an Accor member the rate was great and we received a bottle of wine and sweets in our room. A wonderful two night stay was had and we highly recommend it.

Great location close to main street. Clean room and floors in apartment, with good stock of kitchen items and crockery. Lovely bathroom. Swim up pool access good. Lovely staff.
