Since my last visit about 5 or 6 years ago they have updated the reception, bar and restaurant and they are all pretty nice. Sadly they have done very little to the rooms and they are tired, especially the bathrooms which are very poor quality. Really, this is a budget quality hotel, staff are good, rooms are an OK size for a UK hotel, beds reasonably comfy, it's location is great and as a base where you won't spend much time it is fine as long as you are not looking for anything above low quality. Internet was terrible, patchy at best and never got above 2mbps which meant any video on any platform constantly lagged. Breakfast was average, what I would expect from a budget hotel. For our use I would stay here again as long as I could get it cheap enough

Room very small for the price and a bit scruffy. Breakfast not great. Getting charged for parking I thought was a bit much considering I couldn't get a spot most days and ending up leaving on the street and moving into the the car park at night when I could get a spot.

Always have a good experience in Mercure Hotels. Only one thing I was disappointed in was ,windows were dirty with birds mess,which looked like it had been there for a while.
