Staff very helpful. Breakfast every day was spoilt as we had to ask for numerous items every day. Staff did not check on low food. No plates, bread, butter, water for tea machine (2 days running) orange and breakfast food. 2 days paper (was part of privilege room deal) we had to ask for.

We live in mainland Spain and traveled to Ayr for a family wedding, booked Mercure due to its good location. My first comment has to be about reception, we received a lovely genuine friendly welcome from Lynn she was so nice and very helpful. I asked to borrow an iron & for some extra T-bags, she had them delivered to my room immediately. We had a lovely sea view room 562 , rooms are a bit tired looking and could do with a refresh, however they are spotlessly clean and I have to mention the complimentary toiletries Elemental Herbology, absolutely beautiful. So yes I would recommend this hotel, we only stayed 2 nights before flying back home so didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant.

Starting with Alex who booked us in. Very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent evening meal with friendly waiters and bar staff. Breakfast was lovely, again with friendly staff. Room was perfect.
