Staff are generally lack of training, cold and I am generally dissapointed with my stay with Mövenpick Samarkand but it is still slightly better (in term of services) compared to Mövenpick Old Town Tashkent. I am utterly dissapointed with the whole staying experience in Tashkent. Back to Samarkand, location is quite good with walkable distance to some attractions in old town area. Facilities are old and sound proof is horrible. Can easily hear coughing sound of your neighbour or toilet flushing. Staff are unsure of the benefits for Accor+ explorer benefits etc just to name a few. Every request for questions were treated as an inconvenience & nuisance. Mövenpick would probably a brand I will avoid in central Asia in future. Thank you!

The customer service in this hotel was terrible. From the moment we arrived, things were not good. Firstly they insisted in us paying for the stay in full otherwise they couldn't check us in. We wanted to use a specific credit card which had very low FX fees, but we couldn't use it until the following day, due to suspected fraud on the card. I explained this and told them they could use another card as guarantee until the next day but they refused. We had to use the other cc and were charged €40 in fees for using it. I complained about this the next day to the reception staff and asked them to compensate me. they said they'd discuss with the manager and come back to me. We had to chase them multiple times only to be told on the 3rd day that the manager was "off" for the weekend, so there was nothing they could do. I said this was unacceptable and wanted to speak to someone senior. The receptionist, Alexsandra, said there was noone senior working. Unbelievable. In adding to that our air conditioning was not working and we had to call them to the room 3 times to fix it. The communication was terrible. The fridge also did not work the while time we were there. When I complained again on check out, we were treated with indifference and as an annoyance by Alexandra. She only apologised when I told her, "you have even said sorry" . I demanded she give extra points to my card to somewhat compensate...which she did eventually. This is not the level of customer service ive ever experienced at an Accor hotel before...even at much cheaper hotels like Ibis. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Samarkand

Average experience. Hotel is located in a nice leafy neighbourhood and close to tourist attractions. Service was lacking. While staff was always polite, most of my basic requests were ignored. I had twice asked for extra hangers and extra water and no one responded. Sheets were not changed for a whole week. There was no option to “place a card”. Twice I had to call for house keeping as the room had not been tidied up by afternoon. Payment was taken upfront for the room even though I suggested I was happy to leave a credit card on file as I intended to use laundry and room service. Upon check out some meals were bundled together and some items were missing completely. Room itself was large and comfortable and so was the bathroom.

Smooth check in and out and good breakfast. The pools are amazing, with the friendly staff as cherry on the top. The room is rather small for this level of hotel, and the fridge in the room is working poorly.

Thanks for a great room upgrade and the very friendly & hepful staff throughout. The breakfast and in particular the dinner menu need some upgrade (take an example from the Mercure Bukhara). However, the Samsa is great. The sauna is too cold.
