Nice hotel with small but clean rooms, staff is friendly and there is a decent gym on the lower floor. Late check-out was possible and free of charge

Great location which we can walk to most the attractions, hotel is big and great smell. Front desk staff was helpful allow us check in early. Nice decor in the room but bed was a bit small. What frustrate me the most is only 2 small bottle water complimentary in the room. When ask for more they are charging you. Never had this happen before no matter I stay at big groups like Hyatt, Marriott or local hotels. Bar charge you 38.5k for a bottle water which you have no other option when you desperately for water, especially in such a dry, sunny city like Samarkan

Poor maintenance

For a 4 star hotel, we were hoping more amenities: really poor gym,no hand lotion, the pool was not clean, there was moho all over it. The room we stayed in (4026), the shower was clot with a lot of hair, the wifi was almost non existent. The room service was really limited, only two options, the only worst hotel I've stayed was in Kiev, Ukraine. The company needs to have cleaner standards.

I want especially to thank the reception manager who was on duty on the days of check in and check out. He provided me with all the information and advice what to do, where and so on. he was extremely kind and supportive. People are the main asset, and you can forget some inconveniences if the person was the right one

This was my first stay in Movenpick. I had always wanted to stop in a Movenpick hotel on my travels but unfortunately most were outside my location. Having good feedback from other Movenpick chain hotels around the world where family and friends had stayed I decided to experience a stay for myself as the location was spot on. The hotel itself is stunning, clean and hospitable staff. The location of the hotel was spot on. Usually 5 star hotels are outside location so this was a bonus. I wasn’t informed on arrival about the facilities the hotel had to offer and the free chocolate hour which Movenpick hotels boast about nor did I see it for myself at any point in the hotel. I did find breakfast underwhelming for Movenpick Samarkand. I expected an egg station where choice of eggs would be prepared as is the case in most 5 star hotels I have stopped in. Fresh pastries were not an option here and choice of juices were not fresh. Hot drinks were served from a machine and only option given was coffee or hot milk. I’m not sure if this is the case for this particular hotel. I ate several times in the hotel restaurant food was good, desserts not so. I expected the finest Swiss desserts but this was not the case. Although I enjoyed my stay at the hotel for me the luxury feel was let down by a good continental breakfast.
