We had A. wonderful and memorable stay at SO/ Maldives. The resort is beautiful, romantic, family-friendly, and very convenient due to its close location to Malé airport and smooth transfer process. Special thanks to Mr. Wichu, who was truly outstanding. He helped us with many things, was very supportive and flexible, and made our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable. We also want to thank Miss Luna at the Kids Club. She was amazing, kind, and very friendly with our children. Miss Rachel was also wonderful and caring. Our children became very attached to them, which made us feel very comfortable. Overall, the atmosphere, activities, lighting, service, and hospitality were excellent. Thank you to the whole SO/ Maldives team for making our stay special.

Dear Mr. Waheed, Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your response does not resolve my complaint. Instead, it attempts to justify what happened after the fact while avoiding the core issues. First, I have retained the original Agoda booking screenshots. Although they are in Chinese, they clearly state: 1 adult & 1 child (0–12 years old) 1 child stays free Breakfast included At no point during the entire booking process was there any statement informing me that I would need to pay an additional child meal supplement at the hotel. As a guest, I am entitled to rely on the booking confirmation and the information presented before payment. I should not be expected to discover hidden charges only after arriving at the resort. The fact remains that your hotel demanded an additional USD 499 from me. Only after I insisted that your team verify Agoda’s own policy was the charge changed. This was not a misunderstanding on my part. It was your team’s mistake. Secondly, your explanation regarding the villa upgrade is equally unacceptable. I repeatedly asked Levi Wang whether there were any better upgrade offers available because the quoted prices were far higher than what I would normally expect from a luxury resort. Instead, Levi continued to quote: USD 388 for a City View Water Villa USD 588 for an Ocean Water Pool Villa Because these prices appeared unreasonable, I contacted your Reservations Department myself. Within a very short time, your Reservations team offered me the exact same Ocean Water Pool Villa for USD 388. This demonstrates that a substantially better price was available all along, yet it was never offered to me despite my repeated requests. Your explanation that Reservations provided a “special offer” does not resolve the issue. Levi Wang represented the hotel. When I specifically asked him to help me find the best available offer, he failed to do so. I should never have had to bypass my assigned butler in order to receive a fair price. Finally, your email contains apologies and explanations, but no accountability and no resolution. I spent a significant part of my family holiday dealing with unnecessary billing disputes, repeatedly questioning charges, contacting different departments myself, and correcting issues that should never have occurred in the first place.
