The hotel location and setting is great. It was a beautiful spot. But the butler service and food is borderline bad. The guy from the Ocean Sport center is also rude. Overall, the good things only are the hotel location, and room service such as cleaning room. The food is bad, restaurants are over complicated like need booking to eat. And butler is not great.

We booked a 5 day stay on half board package through Luxury Escapes in Australia hw we arrived after a month in Europe (France). Due to war, new Austrian Airlines flight cost an extra $2k on top of normal airfare. This cost altered what we could afford in our 5 days at SO.

Our stay in an overwater bungalow at SO/ Maldives (March 28 – April 4) was nothing short of extraordinary—truly one of the most epic vacations we’ve ever experienced. From the moment we were greeted at the airport to the heartfelt send-off at the end of our stay, every single detail was seamless and elevated beyond our expectations. The level of service is something you feel immediately—warm, genuine, and consistently exceptional. The resort itself is stunning. Our overwater bungalow was absolute perfection—beautifully designed, private, and surrounded by the most breathtaking turquoise water. Waking up to peaceful sunrises and ending the day with unforgettable sunsets felt surreal. The ocean was alive with marine life—we saw incredible fish right from our deck, which made every swim and snorkel feel like a dream. The vibe of the island is something really special. It’s tranquil, peaceful, and incredibly well-maintained, yet still has a fun, stylish energy. Whether we were relaxing in total serenity or enjoying the entertainment—the DJ sets and the fire show were amazing—everything felt thoughtfully curated. And the food… absolutely outstanding. Every meal exceeded expectations, with so much variety and quality across the board. What truly sets SO/ Maldives apart, though, is the people.
