The resort was modern and very well-kept. The villa was very thoughtfully designed, spacious, and comfortable. All of the service was very friendly and thoughtful. We appreciated the many food options—almost every dish was delicious and presentable, and the staff was always receptive to special requests. A couple small points of feedback: food portions can be smaller, and more free/cheaper activities (especially water activities were too expensive on top of what we had paid for the resort).

We travel widely including Fiji and Seychelles which also offer the over water accommodation and good meals. However SO/ is of higher standard in both, the cuisine and the accommodation. The facilities and the surroundings are also more cheerful, peaceful and relaxing. However the biggest difference is the quality and friendliness of the staff. You are being looked after by a guest experience maker from the time you step on the SO/ pier to the moment when you depart. This part of personal attention and attention to details is an art being lost even in 5* hotels. The same I can say about the villa attendant who was keeping the villa spotless, leaving beautiful palm messages on the bedsheet and attended to our request with big smile and promptly. Yes it was a great relaxing stay and probably not only in our eyes but also in eyes of those many honeymooners who were staying there at the same time.
