Maldivian authenticity at its best

This is our 6th trip to the Maldives, 10th resorts visited. We had an amazing stay at Banyan Tree thanks to the amazing marine centre team and great services across all departments. - Transfer / Location: Banyan Tree is 20 mins from Male airport by speedboat, and team is very accommodating with the boat schedule. We landed at Male at 7am and arrived at the resort by 8am. On departure day, our left the resort at 18h45 for a 21h10 international flight. This is by far the most efficient and smooth transfer I have ever had across all my trips to the Maldives. - Diving: Diving was the main focus of our trip, due to pre-arranged itinerary we could only stay 3 nights, however, the whole team went the extra mile to make sure I see manta, countless stingrays, moray eels and sharks during 8 dives. We also spent a lot of time chatting about marine life and diving trends with the extremely knowledgeable and friendly team at the dive center. - Facilities: Banyan Tree is not as fancy as some of the newer luxury resorts, however it has all you need for a truly authentic Maldivian holiday, from immerse lagoons, beautiful beaches, to comfortable rooms with traditional Maldivian design. The newly opened Japanese restaurant with infinity pool also elevated the standard of the resort. - F&B: Food and drinks are reasonably priced for Maldivian standard, and everything we ordered from the Thai and Japanese restaurants are made with very high standard. The Thai restaurant is probably the closest to what I had in Thailand. - Services: This is the highlight of our stay, every staff we came across was highly motivated and eager to make guests happy, from housekeeping, front office, F&B, to spa. Special thanks to our amazing dive guide and friend Nittu, dive centre team (Ali, Yaafish), our great host Chloe and front office manager Waheed for making our stay so memorable. We cannot wait to coming back next year!

my wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our three nights stay at banyan tree vabbinfaru. it was an easy seamless transfer from velana airport, with the resort only a short 25 minute comfortable boat ride away. the property was amazing: gorgeous crystal water with abundant marine life and breathtaking sunsets. powder fine sand throughout the resort. restaurants, bars and rooms that blended contemporary architecture with traditional and nature inspired elements without neglecting modern comforts. the marine centre and house reef also kept us engaged for a good part of our stay. what truly made our stay spectacular however was the exceptional competence, hospitality and warmth of our hosts. we especially remember chloe who was cheerful and ever attentive, waheed who made sure our transits and stay were seamless, henry and sama who were knowledgeable, infectiously enthusiastic and so ready to share.
